Quote from: RoyalsFan on November 14, 2025, 01:29:14 AMI may be mistaken, but I didn't think CSS had lights, and the reason MIAC games were moved up an hour was because of going back to standard time as an hour of daylight was lost in the afternoon. So if that is the case, anyone know why the game is starting at 1 instead of 12?

So they have time to stop at Toby's for a caramel bun on the way...

Quote from: Mister36 on November 13, 2025, 05:52:56 PMReminder! All Saturday MIAC Games, with the exception of the Bethel/CSS game, are at 12. Bethel/CSS is at 1.

Hamline/Augs is 7:30 PM on Friday

I believe this is a change as I think the Bethel game was originally set at 12.

CSS plays their home games at Denfeld high school, which has lights.

Was just about to ping our resident Duluth expert. Thanks G&BBU

I finally got the ole "snip snip" and need to make sure all my D3football games are dialed in. Doc was like, we usually see these scheduled for March madness time. I explained this was akin to my version, but still far enough out for me to be full go for Thanksgiving, lol!

 ;D

Had that done a few years ago after our 3rd was born.

Take it real easy the first 2 days, and it's easy street.  I was playing old man basketball 2 weeks later without issue.  Have a friend who only took life easy that first evening after, and then was on parenting duty the next day, and paid the price with a very prolonged recovery.

My advice:  take advantage of it and milk it for all you can. Other advice:  lots of ice.

Dining on the "2 for $25" (with a +5 upgrade) at the local Applebee's with the spousal unit Friday afternoon, when a gagle of CSB clad young ladies came in. As the staff pushed together a few tables to accommodate the dozen or so, I was trying to come up with what they were in town for, as I have a pretty good idea of the competitions going on with the local D3.

SJU men's hockey here on Saturday night but this group wouldn't have anything to do with that.

Maybe they were a debate team? Maybe just passing through?

I figured it out a bit later:

https://gobennies.com/news/2025/11/14/womens-cross-country-preview-csb-cross-country-team-will-compete-at-the-ncaa-diii-north-region-championships-on-saturday.aspx

I know that local 18 track well. Someone warn the Bennie harriers that if they run out of bounds on hole #14 they might trip on one of my many Titleists I was too irritated to retrieve.

Good luck College of St. Benedict Cross Country!  8-)

Fun fact: today's Bethel/CSS match up is the first MIAC contest between them - only other game is 1st round playoff game in 2013 at the baggydome.

Main points of interest: will Bethel reach 70 like that playoff game and SJU last week, and can Rundell snag enough catches to beat the MIAC season record. I think he needs at least 21 again.

I would imagine that Johns Hopkins losing today scrambled things a bit?

Yep, they are going to stay in the top 8, but it's very possible it bumped Bethel up a spot. Fortuitous outcome. Next best thing would be RF losing.

Mister36

Although if RF goes down, Bethel now looks like they would be #5...NCC is #4

Mister36

Well for various reasons, despite winning, RF fell below Bethel in NPI barely. BU seems to have the 5 seed, which according to Logan Hanson is nearly certain to be in the same quadrant as NCC..and the same half of the bracket as Mount Union.

Wild day. JHU doesn't even look like a Top 10 team IMO.

Top 8 Quads:
1 (1) Mount w/ 2 (8) Berry
1 (4) NCC w/ 2 (5) Bethel

1 (2) Wartburg w/ 2 (7) JHU
1 (3) Christopher Newport w/ 2 (6) UWRF

At first glance this will actually make it a bit easier to break up all the "midwest" teams. Every single quad has driveable options for teams in that part of the country.

18 teams that can be spread between all 4 "Regions" - Mount, Wartburg, NCC, Bethel, UWRF, John Carroll, UWP, SJU, Hope, UWW, Monmouth, DePauw, UWL, Alma, Concordia (Wisc), Wheaton, Coe, and Crown.
