Mr.MIAC

This WCCO article on tomorrow's UST game with Carleton points out a surprising statistic.  "The Tommies have allowed a total of 27 points over their last five games, including two shutouts." I knew the defense had been stepping it up, but that number is shockingly low.

I'll check the underpasses tonight and ask if anyone has seen him.

Maybe he's camped out at Zuccotti Park.

"Pat's take: No. 19 St. Olaf. Alright. I'll buy one last time into the Johnnie magic concept. After that they'll have to show me once before I go again. But the Oles haven't won in Collegeville since 2001, and have lost 10 of 11 at St. John's. Whether St. John's recent bounceback is a measure of improved play or catching some easier opponents will be determined Saturday, but the Johnnies need a win to finish with a winning record."

I had a heart attack when I saw that.  :)

Glenn Caruso is once again up for DIII Coach of the Year.  You can vote once per day up until 3 December 2011.  See the following link:

http://www.stthomas.edu/bulletin/2011/11/04/coach-of-the-year/?WT.ac=ath3-Nov-2011.usthp&utm_source=ath3-Nov-2011.usthp

He's got to get another 1500 votes just to catch up.
Here's where we find out the true strength of the purported legions of Tommie faithful listening on 'CCO and watching games across the globe from corporate boardrooms and the highest offices of government.

If by "legions" you mean me, sitting in my office on a slow Friday, reading Deadspin, and voting for him over and over and over, then yeah.

I kid.

Sorry, Bench. Only one vote per day.
Wait, I'll retract that. You Tommies and your mountains of money. You've probably got enough for at least six or seven top-of-the-line computers and a team of computer programmers and networkers to re-program your IP address to trick the system into letting you vote several hundred thousand times per day.

I'll be quiet as you and the rest of the Tommie faithful swim around in your sea of wealth.

I heard he's doing a solo "Occupy Royalton" protest. Too much treasure there.  ;D

Taking shots at my hometown?!
Oh, it is on like Donkey Kong!

Since I married a gal that lived on HWY 10 about 8 miles north of the Treasure City, I have gone by there plenty. Bought a bird feeder for my wife for X-Mas there back in the 80's fercrissakes! Had to bust the ice to get it out of the ground. She loved it until the storm of 2007 that wrecked our former house took that out as well.

Stopped there last December for kicks with the kids and wife. The place has inventory beyond belief. It's all good Sam. Those places are fun.  8-)

ps: My mother-in-law taught at Royalton HS. But I can see she was retired by the time you went through.

In other words, they've given up as many points as SJU gave up all season during their national title season in 1965. Yes, everything goes back to the Johnnies, and yes it will have to be something from the distant past.

No, that is obviously impressive and has actually been a bit needed, as it seems the Tommie offense has been slightly sluggish lately, at least since the 63-point eruption.

Could be.
You have to remember that the High School is 7-12 at RHS. I arrived there in the Fall of 1997.

Some Tommie has been holding it for ransom.

Hey! Come to think of it, the Johnnies are 0-2 against the Tommies since that cup was lost.
I better get it back by September 15, 2012!

Dunno why. It's always Keith who picks against St. John's, not me. :)

On the SJU article earlier this weekHeres what I would do:

1.  Rather than spending money on new turf, I think they should rip up turf, put the natural turf back in, call it the Clemens Natural Bowl ---forget about domed stadium stuff.

2.  Also, lets bag the "this Johnnie scoring drive is sponsored by...."  that is totally cheesy

3.  Deconstruct the north end zone stands---let students sit on the hills, also gives us another opportunity to see the rat pack repel from mcneely spectrum

4.  Fire Jimmy

5.  Recruit the HS student athletes that are hungry, underdog types that play their guts out on the field week end and week out and root out the sense of complacency.....
