Baz-a-ball been berry, berry good to me.  I keeck a touchdown.

Speaking of Aussie Rules, the pre-season has just concluded with Grand Final losers Geelong looking really strong.  The mighty fighting Hawks. Have been fighting injuries all off season and, as a result, had a pretty woeful pre-season campaign.  The regular season kicks off (bounces?) in 9 days with an opening game, Friday night rematch of the Grand Final.  Mrs. Oz, a lifelong Geelong supporter, and I will be bringing the two oldest girls (both Hawks supporters; smart kids) to the game.  You may catch us on the American evening news since Mrs. Oz claims she'll wear her Geelong cap as we are sitting in the Hawthorn members section.  We may be in the reserved family area, but you can never be certain what the result of such inflamatory actions will be.

I saw a bit of the Twins/Marlins game yesterday, and Slowey was dominant. I know it's only preseason, but his pitch command looked very sharp.

Ha my old nemesis KR comes out throwing bombs.  Wow way over the line sir.  I am speechless.

Veek: You old dog.  No surprise, your wife told me you were inadequate in a few areas...

Bennie: You got +K the other day.  Snoop not so much.  I really wish we could see who gives +K and -K.  I think it would be very interesting....

Cheers

The President

TDT...I feel like your long lost prodigal son.  Maybe I should proclaim myself the VP since you are the only one with more neg k than me.  the way things are going, I think a revolution is in the stirring and a new regime will be in place soon. :)

Haven't visited for a couple months and I feel honored to be able to post on page 3000.

Bennie - I'm getting amped for the playoffs, and am heartened by the fact that it looks like your BJ's are going to make it for the first time in their existence. I wish them (and you vicariously) luck in that quest. Nash is a beast. Since I'm a Caps fan, I am a huge Ovie fan, but would love to have Nash on my team as well. I also have the luxury of having Semin, who's hands are magical, and Backstrom, who may be the best center nobody knows, and Green to add to the mix. You have a gem in Mason, who, if the Capitals had, I think they would be the odds on favorite for the Cup. Let's hope neither disappoints.

Curious thing about the hard hat - the Capitals award a hard hat in many games to the player who has put in the effort that makes him worthy of such a distinction. It is really a badge of honor, and the player often wears it during post game interviews because of the pride they take in getting it. Do the Jackets do that too?
I adore Nash! He has some serious skills and I think that having years playing for a team that has been the Macalester of the NHL has build a lot of character. Mason is great, I just hope he stays healthy. He seems a lot more durable that delicate flower LeClaire ever was. The Caps have some serious talent! They have a nice mix of youthful enthusiasm and older, playoff experience.  I just hope their goaltending doesn't let them down. Just ask 57 about pinning your hopes on Jose. I am really looking forward to the next couple of months of hockey!

I think that the Blue Jacket hardhat is strictly NHL merchandising. I am not familiar with the Jackets having one that they pass around. That practice is actually pretty common. I remember the Flames did it during their 2004 season. Craig Conroy brought the idea with him to the Flames from the Blues. Unfortunately, the hardhat mojo didn't work today. :-\

Before the season started I was chatting with one of the UO hockey players and we were talking about what teams we thought could really surprise people this year. His pick, Phoenix. My pick, Chicago. Well, guess who's pick looks to be playoff bound and who's pick will be joining 57's Avs on the golf course! ;)

No time for sports talk. Janesville O'Flash is too busy celebrating St. Pat's.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Anyone on the board have an extra ticket for the Lady Gaga performance at the Fine Line in Mpls on Monday, March 23 at 9:00 p.m.? Poker Face is out of this world. The event is sold out at this time. :'(

As MIACPP legal advisor, I feel it behooves me to share this from The Smoking Gun website, as proof that your green attire may not match the county-issued orange.
Be forewarned!

Other than a chance to see her parading around in the blue unitog, I find it hard to believe that one would spend good money on Lady Gaga.

Don't worry.  So long as the Irish control the judiciary, they'll get OR and no time.  Right, Your Honor? ;D

Ha!  I'm afraid to keep reading since I don't see how it can get any better than the first sentence...

"China's last eunuch spills sex secrets"

BEIJING (Reuters) - Only two memories brought tears to Sun Yaoting's eyes in old age -- the day his father cut off his genitals, and the day his family threw away the pickled remains that should have made him a whole man again at death.

Wow, Oz, I don't think I'll finish the story either.  That first line already told me (more than) what I wanted to know! ;D

Sorry I missed posting on the historic page 3,000 - maybe in a month or so I can get in on 4,000! :D

Tmerton, you are correct, sir! I will not be on the bench today as I am heading to St. Paul to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It has been a few years since I have done that.
