That is good news, stanbob.  Nice to hear that we're getting top recruits for the trenches.  I hope we pick up some receiving candidates as well.

... 295-pound nose guard Joe Zrust...

He'll be an o-lineman before he knows it :)

Good news, though.

Big Gopher/Hawkeye wrestling match this Sunday!  Should be a doozy, as always.  Me and the old man are going!

ROR, I see you posting on the Gopher Wrestling site.  The Goph's could really use Deitchler right now as 157 is a weak spot in the lineup, but I don't think we'll be seeing him till next season.

Duffman, make sure you read the next issue of The Guillotine, coming out on Feb. 25. Article on Johnnie wrestling that you will enjoy.

Looking forward to the International Eelpout Festival this weekend in Walker and the companion event at our lake property in Longville. It should be a treat to be at the Bikini Ice Fishing Team Musical Fashion Revue Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the tent at the park in Walker. ;D

The events in Egypt produced some silly moments as well - check out the latest in Egyptian riot protection gear here  The hands down winner has to be the last guy - the one with 2 baguettes strapped to his ears and a kaiser roll taped to his forehead.

Nice find...I like the guy with the life vest on. You never know when a flashflood might occur in the desert

Thanks Duff. I always get my issue much later than Minnesotans so haven't seen the mag yet, although I did see a PDF. Thought it turned out well.

Some of the comments are making me laugh out loud...

"NOW WHAT WILL YOU DO!? I HAVE BREAD STRAPPED TO MY HEADDD"

Have you ever been so pissed off that you strapped a rock to your head?

I taped breadsticks to my head
Your argument is invalid

"Hey You Over there with the salami and a provolones strapped to your head... Wanna Do Lunch?"

don't mess w/ the fist guy, those were bottles of Diet Coke strapped to his melon. Pop in a few Mentos and you got yourself one bad-@ss riot cannon.

I'm at the first match ever for the new Melbourne Rebels.  They,re playting the New South Wales Waratahs, the second ranked club in the world.  The rebels are playing well above their weight at the moment and the game is scoreless 11 minutes in, which is something.

OzJohnnie

The Rebs aretrailinbg 10-0 at the half and they're lucky it's that close.  We might be looking at a double monkey stompout here, I'm afraid.

The wave is going here.  It's heading around the stadium counterclockwise.  Must be cebtripital force.  Just like water down a drain.

On a blackberry.  You gotta forgive fat fingers for mis-types.  Centripital.

And the Melbourne Pipers go down to the New South Wales Johnnies 43-0.
