I don't think the bloom is off the rose.  In a normal year the 8,413 homecoming crowd would be low, but probably not bad considering it followed the Target Field game (which probably had close to 25k Johnnie fans in attendance) and Family Weekend.  Taking out the home UST game last year this year's average attendance is slightly up from last year, with GAC and CC to visit.

I wasn't at the game so I have no idea, but you think there were twice as many Johnnie fans there compared to Tommie fans?

Easily...likely more like 65% SJU, 35% U$T and 5% interested observers.

Aw, be nice.  In four decades of teaching statistics, I got VERY good at adding in my head.  After a decade of retirement, the skills are fading, but that was pretty easy!  Despite beer and bourbon, which I doubt are helpers.

Oops! We all understand the D3 attendance numbers aren't really official.

While it's true that the Johnnies have had little magic since 2003, nearly 15 years ago, they aren't facing an acute crisis. They'll still be competitive for the next decade or so. That being said, assessments of their long-term prospects are necessarily less than optimistic. They need to start winning and beyond athletics, become a more attractive option for prospective students. The Johnnie fan base is aging and student numbers have started to stall, which means they'll have a hard time bringing in new fans.  Meanwhile, UST is winning and students are flocking to campus, in part because the alumni network and location offer more opportunities. The UST fundraising campaign now on the horizon is set to raise $1 billion, which will further accelerate these trends. SJU is also facing stiff competition from other MIAC schools, most notably Concordia and Bethel. Unless they start winning, there's a good chance one of these competitors will become the perennial number two in the MIAC.

Concordia is suffering financially quite a bit, actually. I would sometimes see more Johnnie red at the Y in Fargo than Cobber maroon and gold.

I see it has already been pointed out that your numbers don't add up. Also if there were 'easily' twice as many SJU fans and 35% were Tommie fans, then SJU would have to had at least 70%. Hope your major wasn't in math.    (all in jest)
