On Sunday, our priest even mentioned that we had a lot of happy folks due to the Johnnie win.  Part of me was hoping that we'd have a certain fill-in priest that teaches at U$T and mentions U$T football during every mass (I know that Pat knows who I am talking about).   ;D

Well, he was at our parish on Sunday morning, and mentioned that UST lost the game within the first two minutes of Mass. My kids looked at me and smiled, because I told them on the way there that I hoped we would have him that day, and to see if he would talk about it even in defeat.

Blake Patrick is another unsung hero.
His hands have been a bit questionable the past few years, but he has always been in the mix.  Good time for him to step into a bigger role.  I know that I questioned who Jackson was going to throw to this year, at the midpoint of the season, I'd say we don't have a lack of talent at WR!  :o

That we do not.  Although greener, I think this year's receiving corp is even better than last year's.  Gillach was a superstar, but I reckon this set is deeper.  When these four sophomores are all seniors together?  It will be criminal.

I'm amazed by the factoid I picked up a week or two ago on an article about Alston that his TD catches this year were his first since the 8th grade.  As good as he is, he couldn't break into high reps with three or four D1 receivers at his high school in front of him.  Sheesh.  Whatever veggies they are eating out in that Cali town sure grow an abundance of fast kids with good hands.
VISTA MURRIETA -SJU has had some really good players from that Orange County area in the past 6 years

Rickie Fowler also grew up in Murrieta. It's wine country. Maybe that is the secret. Lake Elsinore is just a few miles away as well.

Really curious which priest this is.

My priest just talks about the Lions, generally in a deprecatory manner, since he's from Michigan

Just saw that Nate Stanley is leading the B1G in passing yardage (1,771) through 7 games for an average of 253 yds/game & has tossed 9 TDs to 5 interceptions. Was curious how that compared to Erdmann. Through 6 games Erdmann has thrown 19 TDs/3 interceptions & 1,936 yards (322.7/game).

Pat, do you recall?  I haven't seen him at our parish in quite a while, so I can't remember his name.

Then along came Heckendorf...

That was the change I was referring to which wouldn't have been easy for Gary.

As I understand it, when a boat load of starters and important players voice their opinion that they want the OC gone, not sure the decision is that difficult.

Final TD for SJU? Anyone who complained about this doesn't know football or sports in general. It was still a game. Someone mentioned it earlier, that score put it out of reach, period. Anything can happen in a less than 2-score game and 30secs. left.

While I have no issue with the td, I am curious how a score of 31-20 is a less than 2 score game. I am going to assume you meant less than 3 score game.

Should have thrown that last PAT behind the back to a tight end...just for sport and to get it on film for Olaf and maybe even on ESPN! I'm sure Dave Lee would not have objected to that!

Difficult in the sense that he had to ouster the longtime OC and son of his mentor.
