Duff, that fish qualifies as a hog.

bennie: Watch a little boring NHL Playoff action this weekend?  ;)

What do you think of my Ducks now?  ;D

I know, I know. The Wings outplayed them the whole game but JSG was up to the task.

Two OT games this weekend and then nothing but water bottle, baby!  8)

BDB,
Do you have your cooler fully stocked with Leinie's Summer Shandy yet?  8)

Don't remind me! :'(

Corey Perry has now topped Raffi Torres and Jordin Tootoo on the list of players that I would most like to kick in the shins! :P

I have decided that the thing I like most about watching the games on Versus is no Brett Hull! I didn't mind him before as a player when I was only exposed to the occasional sound bite, but the whole intermission worth is too much! I am waiting for Ray Ferraro to beat the crap out of him one of these days. I almost sprayed pop all over my living room when Hully was critical of some offensive players not playing defensively enough! Brett, your standing still and watching the play while in your defensive zone does not really count as playing defense. I guess in that respect, he knows what he is talking about!

Hopefully the Wings get their act together on Tuesday or they will be getting their golfclubs dusted off on Wednesday. :D

Got a level II going today after a tour of the Gluek brewery last night and a rather extended stay in the tap room. They're making some sweeet brews out there these days.
BDB-I feel your pain. Looking forward to my 1st basball-free summer after a 15 year run of coaching. The fish are getting vewy vewy newvous. I'd suggest you tell Mr. Bigmouth to shut up and leave the coaching to the guys on the field. Not that it couldn't happen, but I've yet to see someone hit in the on deck circle. If you're on deck, you've got a helmet on and you should be watching the hitter ahead of you. Stand by your own dugout. Simple.
I thought I would have a summer away from coaching after approx a 12 yr stint, but am starting again at the LL level with my youngest son. The parents make it more challenging than the kids do. I/we have never had the kids go to the opposing teams on deck circle. At the LL level, it can sometimes be a toss-up which circle is the safest for any one batter....I think any dad that has coached has his share of obnoxious parents/fans. A few yrs ago, a friend I coached with was being heckled by a dad throughout one of our games. The dad I coached with also was a pretty good ump & when the ump for the game after ours didn't show at the start, he was asked to fill-in behind the plate. The fan/dad that was heckling him during our game was still around watching and was making a few comments behind the plate. My buddy finally had enough & called time and addressed the somewhat quiet bleachers "Mr Smith, all the volunteer coaches and umpires are on this side of the fence". It probably helped that this guys wife was sitting with him, but that pretty much quieted this guy the rest of the year.

Where I swim, next to the pool facility is a large park with several soccer fields with a six foot chain link fence seperating the two. There is a gate, but because of problems with the soccer parents parking in the pool lot (and taking up all of the parking spots) instead of parking in the soccer parking lot, the gate is now kept locked. On Saturday, as I was getting out of my car I noticed a woman drive up and park next to the fence. She gets out along with her two little boys that were probably about six years old and she proceeds to have them climb the fence to get to their soccer game that had already started. Thank goodness one of the other mothers that was watching the game saw them and ran over to help them get over the top and down safely. Now a six foot drop probably wouldn't kill them, but it probably would have broken something...and the mother would have been on the wrong side of the fence to even help them! Jeeze, you are already late, is the five more minutes it would have taken to drive to the right lot so that the kids wouldn't have had to climb the fence really going to make that much of a difference? I have a feeling that this mom would not care which on deck circle her kids stood in! :o

But did they win?  The team couldn't have won without those two in attendance, I am sure...  After all, why play the game if you can't win?   ::)

I managed to turn on the game yesterday with 1 minute left in the 3rd period.  Wow.    I saw the Ducks win 2-0, and both Hasek and Giggy were studs.

I think the Dead Wings will have to overcome insuperable odds to beat the Mitey Ducks.

BDB

I actually think the Wings are going to take the next 2 and go on to the finals.

Then I will have to pull for the Sens because there is no damn way I can root for a team with Todd Bertuzzi on it.  :P

Um Sum...no need to jinx them.  We all know that the tournament starts on the Back Nine on Sunday (in this case Friday) just like The Masters...

KR: Who ya got this weekend, Brew Crew or Twinks??

Ya gotsta know I got the Twins!
Sorry for the delayed response, el presidente, Mrs KR and I made the quickie trip to the cities for MrsKR's oldest brothers graduation from dental school where KR's father-in-law, and KR's 2 brother in-laws and myself solved the ills of the world with the help of a bottle of Glennfiddich Scotch and a 16 gallon keg*.

* We had help finishing the keg, we did not on the scotch.

99,
I'm gonna take a wild shor in the dark and say you've never kissed a girl relative or not.

I did hear through the grapevine that TDT kissed your sister and a little more! Congrats on becoming an uncle!
Rat - what the heck is a wild shor?  Is that a big party on one of the lakes in Minn?  Also can you send a picture of my new niece or nephew.

WAHOO3

Really off topic, but I saw this in the star trib today and thought some people might be interested, regardless of your views on the War.

check out this site to calculate how much the War in Iraq is costing you, even if the money cost isn't the most important.

Easy now...

BTW: How many Des Moines Cubs games have you been to so far this year?

Had a lunch meeting with Dusty SJU today.  Much of great importance was discussed.  He was especially pleased that Coach Todd will be coaching in the MIAC next season for the Pipers and detailed the copious amounts of Bob and Steves advertising around Stout.
