Always nice to see Paris Hilton featured on the front page of the Star Tribune this morning!

Bennie, I watched the Bachelorette last evening for the first and last time in my life. Always nice to see a Gustie get national attention like this. :P

Happy belated birthday BDB. Hope you don't feel that much older. Speaking of getting older, I was at the Jordan baseball park last evening since Chaska was playing. As I walked up to the gate, the woman selling tickets asked me if I was a senior (as in "senior citizen"). That was a first for me. :-[

Duff, all the best to you and the soon to be new Mrs.. Enjoy the honeymoon.

That happened to my wife when I was with her.  She got asked and I did not.  Boy I was kind of in hot water for awhile.   ;D ;D ;D ;D  Like it was my fault she got asked and I did not.

Congratulations Duff-1K, have fun in Mexico!
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

KR - There needs to be a bit more positive look at marriage around here, so here is some more upbeat advice:

A man owes his success to his first wife (Go Navy, Dr!),
And his second wife to his success (Welcome SoCal!).

And Duff - I've said it before, but it can't be said enough: Congratulations for your big day in five days.  It will be so thrilling to see you so happy like the rest of us around here.

But it is your fault you keep bring it up!  You... you... you... B*STARD!  Now you've made me all upset.  See what you've done!?!

I did not do that to upset you.  I was keeping in line with the marital advice.  One thing to remember to keep a happy marriage.  It is always your fault.  As soon as you learn to accept that and live with it things will be happy.   ;D ;D ;D ;D  You can be just standing still and not say a word and still have something go wrong.   ;D ;D ;D ;D  Here is some special K to make you feel better.  Sorry to be a downer but just trying to help the young lad out.  I also like your line about him being as happy as the rest of us men on here.

Usually the kids selling tickets want to make anyone over forty a "senior". ::)

I would agree with that.  They are bad at judging age.  I am as well.  As I do get older my guess at age is getting worse.

In my mind, I am still twenty-five.  My body knows it is a lie. :'(

Ruler?? I don't get it, you mean how far past the end?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Obviously Bennie simply misspoke - he meant to say 'yardstick'.

They say that curiosity killed the cat, it might have also just killed some of my brain cells. I feel stupider for having checked The Bachelorette episode guide to check if Ryan had been kicked to the curb yet. For the record, he has. Apparently Ryan had some issues with one of the other guys and they decide to have a pushup challenge. Good Lord. Why not just drop trou and get a ruler!! 8) They could just change some of the scenarios and they have the makings for a script for a show about junior high! Reading the episode guide was painful and uncomfortable enough, there is no way I would actually watch this crap!

Oh, and belated happy birthday BDB, congrats on the upcoming nuptials Duff and job well done Kilted Rat!!

Your suggestion about the trousers might make for good TV though.  Better than the pushup contest.  Or at least that is what is perceived as good TV.  I don't think I have ever watched the Bachelor or Bachelortte on TV just does not seem interesting to me.

Having a wife that has watched almost all the Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons; watching this season with her has been more interesting than usual with the "Virgin" Gustie providing weekly entertainment.  In week one we were forced to listen to his voice recital around the piano; hear him wax endlessly about how important faith is in his life, claim to be an NFL football player  :o :o steal the blanket from the Bachelorette during a conversation on the patio and tell everyone in America that he is saving himself for marriage and that he doesn't swear......In last night's episode we once again heard about his faith, virginity and witnessed the infamous push-up contest and were witness to the first time "Hoager" used a swear word when he told one of other guys that he should not act like a "Richard".  Best part of the episode...Ryan's reaction to not getting a rose; while she gave a rose to an absolute psycho nerd in Twilly.  He also displayed less than stellar sportsmanship when he left.....saying that it SUCKED under his breath.

Maybe he can try "A Shot a Love with Tila Tequila" on MTV next year as I highly doubt he will be busy during the football season 8) 8)

As we have just passed Memorial Day, I will take a chance and descend into lowly dorkdom by linking to the Civic Literacy Report - Civic's Quiz.  There are 60 questions and I'm proud to say I scored 56 correct (93.33%).  Harvard was the top scoring school at 69.56%.  Interestingly, SCSU was in on the study (by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute) and scored the third best "Bang For Your Buck" civics education.

Now, my wife says that on rare occasions I demonstrate that I can be a hopeless nerd.  I trust this post proves her wrong...
