I read that article as well, and coach Patsos's is well, not a very bright coach, IMHO.  It's one thing to employ an extremely unique strategy, but when that fails, why would you not try something else.  It's not as if this was a good learning experience for his team.

What an embarrassing night for anybody associated with Loyola.  I would have to think if I was on that team I would have a real issue with my coach.  He embarrassed his players most of all.

LTK: If memory serves correctly I think several teams tried a variation of that game plan last year against Griffin.   It had some limited success only because other Calvin players did not move effectively without the ball, and defenders cut off the passing lanes.  I think KVS would love to have someone try that this year with better ball/player movement so far this year.  With all the offense Hope can mount I am sure GVW would like to see someone try it against Reimink.
FDF:  I am sure the players for Loyola had to be rethinking their college selection. :)

Reportedly, Patsos was booed non-stop by fans throughout the game.

Patsos was totally unapologetic after the game, and thinks he will be remembered as the only coach to ever hold Curry scoreless.  (Yes, moron, because Curry was unselfish enough to totally wreck your gameplan, and destroy any chance your players had of competing in the game - especially since your usual leading scorer was one of the two players taken out of action by Curry.)  What an idiot! :o

"'We had to play against an NBA player tonight,' Patsos explained. 'Anybody else ever hold him scoreless? I'm a history major. They're going to remember that we held him scoreless or we lost by 30?'"

There's genius in such idiocy. I think this is fantastic. I couldn't have been more delighted reading the game account.

Hey coach, you forgot option 3 - the world is going to realize you have no idea of what a team is or how to coach.

I suppose in a few days everything will settle down for Coach Pastos, and he can resume his normal position

Anybody know if the games on Friday and Saturday are going to be televised at all? Satellite or anything of that sort. Its pretty hard to get the games in Savannah. Otherwise I'm assuming the broadcasting will be on the radio as normal? Thanks for any information.

While everything is possible, before the inevitable becomes the obvious, as "hope" remains in the hearts of all MIAA fans, while the chatter here is relatively amicable...

Well, once again Calvin has managed to make an 0-5 team look like world beaters.   :)
Down by 17 points, and being badly out rebounded.
