There's still a dad trying to promote his son as if he's a disinterested observer. I don't smite him for it because the guy has really grown on me.

I wish our basketball team could duplicate the footballs team sweep of Brockport and Cortland. Those 2 basketball teams swept us (times 2) in SUNYAC play last season.  :-[

If the Bengals' Hoop team returns Rod Epps, along with missing in action Justin Mitchell, Anyar Majak, and Maurice Miles as I've been told they will, by a certain Buffalo State assistant coach, then I think you will sweep Cortland and Brockport in basketball. 8-) Plattsburgh State will be the team the Bengals need to worry about this year. ;D

Good luck against Whitewater this week. Would be nice to prove last year was no fluke. Go Bengals!!

And to follow Pep's example plus K to everyone.

Browsing eBay today and found this:

Apparently at Cortland, going undefeated in football in 1988 still allows for you to be, you know, defeated at football in 1988. I really want to buy this shirt

I just bought it

You mean like Gatto? His one-and-only-post the week of the AU at Ithaca game in 2005 is legendary...it's why E8 posters get exited every Saterday. And, Pep might add, there is no truth to the rumor that Gatto landed a job with Merriam-Webster.

Don't know who Puccio is, but I do know I will be wearing that shirt to Planet Fitness this weekend and I will be picking things and putting them down.

Puccio is assistant coach at AU with Coach Dave Murray, for whom he started four years as QB at Cortland State when Murray coached there. This from Game Notes of the 2010 NCAA meeting of Alfred and Cortland:

* Dave Murray is not Alfred's only connection to the SUNY Cortland football program. Assistant coach Dick Puccio was a standout quarterback for the Red Dragons from 1988-91. He is still Cortland's career leader in pass completions (451) and ranks fourth in passing yardage (5,366) and touchdown passes (40). Puccio also set a school record by completing 20 consecutive pass attempts over a two-game stretch during his senior season in 1991.

I'm not much for complaining about karma. I think these boards, by and large, contain good people (at least this board does), and if someone spends enough time here, they know who to avoid. But I do wish the karma sniper(s) would just knock it off and either contribute to the discourse in a meaningful way or just go away. Much like the politics board was shut down after it became a one-man show, if someone's coming in here as a non-active poster and just drilling people's karma, I wish they could be blocked. What this board could use is more people contributing to thoughtful discussion, not trolls sitting there clicking buttons. That's the downside to what you do.

And if on the off chance this karma sniper IS a regular poster, I just have this to say: Get over whatever perceived slight you have and move on. And honestly, if you're reading this and decide you're going to snipe me every day for however long, I say go ahead. I could care less what my K rating is, as the people who frequent this board know who I am and how I contribute. So do your thing, pathetic karma sniper.

I remembered when I first joined, someone had gave me negative karma and I hadn't posted anything.

The funny thing is, the less I post, the more karma I get. I think someone is trying to tell me something.

Ahhhh the infamous "MAGICMAN" on the football boards?!?! Sounds like October 15th can't come fast enough there buddy! BSC hoopsters are hoping that you are right about sweeping the Red Dragons and Golden Eagles in basketball (oops did you also say sweep the Cardinals??? :) ).   Jan 24th will be here soon enough! BTW...did you know that the last game of the season is at PLATTSBURGH (2/22). Heck I may have to drive up there for that 1!! Could be for the 'Yac regular season title ;)

Appreciate the well wishes  for this weekend. The campus is a buzz with anticipation of this weekends game. May be the largest crowd in Coyer field history. Saturday will "hopefully" prove that last year was no fluke! I'm just worried about the stupid penalties that have plagued our boys (avg 9 penalties a game) plus the our porous pass defense (opponents avg 407 yds passing per game ). All of your favorite BENGALS, Coach Faj, Coach Kev, Justin etc..., will be at the game. I know they will get a kick out of your comments!!

Plus 2K  (Pep's example)!

Is this archived anywhere?  I'd love to read it and chuckle.  I posted a FEW things as a current player, but I was always open about my identity (my account handle was "TartanPlayer" when I was active; I added the "Ex" after my last game).
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

I think that was the all timer...
We had one on the MAC boards years before...but the damage was nothing compared to Gatto.  That was a full out pile on...I think the entire board was in on the investigation.

It would pre-date this forum.  It switched over right around that time.  I don't see Gatto listed, so he probably was chased before the turnover...
Maybe Pat still retains the old archives...
I seem to remember that happening on the Liberty League board though...but I may be mistaken...
