Hartwick you made your bed by:

-Losing to Curry last year
-Scheduling 9 games
-Allowing 69 to IC
-Losing to a 3-6 team

You have no argument here after having 2 losses and only having 9 games played.

Was that the sound or unimportance or bitterness I just heard?  Nope...just Upstate.

At least I am not bitching and moaning against my own team man...simply rooting for them...

Cant handle the truth?

You have no legs to stand on with your NCAA argument...

LONG LIVE TEAM BOLTUS!!!

I can handle the truth....can you handle taking off your SJF jersey for more than ten seconds to wash the cheetos off of it?  Say what you want, but it will be nearly three years by the time we play SJF next year that you have beaten us...I bet that stings a little...

We have more of a leg to stand on then your ridiculous arguement over how a 7-3 Fisher team could get in.  We didn't make it...it happens.  I am still excited about having a chance to play one more game and a shot at a 16-5 record over the past two seasons.  We have a lot to build on...

I think you are, as they say on the coffee commercials, "...filled to the brim!" Once Boltus and Phelan are gone your password probably won't work to get on the damn board. Just playin but seriously this Wick stuff has to end. They have no beef and not a valid complaint for not making it. I can tell you exactly when and how Wick was clearly eliminated from a bid.....SPRINGFIELD.

I agree that they were a long shot to get in, But I feel they are better qualified than curry. If it were Monclair State or Rowan, I wouldn't argue. But come on, And who the hell is this 6-4 team from the south? What is that all about?

1) Don't you worry about Curry (Hah! It rhymes) we'll handle that for you...

2) As for the whole Randolph-Macon thing, that's where the AQ can really let in a weak team...6-4 in a four way tie for the conference, ugh. Well they'll be fodder for MUC...

3) As for the whole shifting MUC around, it is similar to what the NCAA basketball tournament does. I think it's comparing apples and oranges however. Look at Michigan State's schedule for example:

Idaho, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, Kansas, The Citadel, Alcorn State...

Teams in D-1 BBall already play national schedules and go to teams all over the country. So the game isn't really set up like the D-III football game is.

All I'd really like is consistency. Look at the primary criteria for at-large selection:

• Win-loss percentage against regional opponents.
• Strength-of-schedule (only contests versus regional competition).
- Opponents' Average Winning Percentage (OWP).
- Opponents' Opponents' Average Winning Percentage (OOWP).
In-region head-to-head competition.
In-region results versus common regional opponents.
In-region results versus regionally ranked teams.

All you see for this criteria is that it's only the in-region stuff that matters. But then, once we get to the playoffs, it's like "Regions be damned!" If it's good enough to choose the teams we let in to the playoffs, it should be good enough for the playoffs themselves. You've got a regional game, you should embrace that

They were giving MUC the easiest possible opponent in the first round... Someone on one of the boards accurately equated it to putting the overall number 1 seed vs the play in game winner in the Men's Bball tourney.

I feel that is complete BS. A 6-4 team from the south gets in over teams like  Monclair State (8-2), Rowan (8-2), Hartwick (7-2), RPI (7-2),  Husson (7-2)? How is that logical.

If Hartwick had gotten the AQ, that's what other people would be saying.

Not if we had finished 8-1...who is going to argue with any team from the E8 getting the AQ with an 8-1 record overall?  Overall though, it doesn't matter...we didn't.  I am disappointed that the E8 didn't get a second team in...same goes for the LL and the NJAC...

Yanks, c'mon, you know Curry is not the 3rd best team in that conference. Not making the conference championship doesn't mean they weren't better than the team from the crappy division (forgot the name). If we followed your logic to its absurd end, in two weeks we'd be saying that Missouri is better than three of these four: Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State. We know that's not true.

As I've said, I don't agree with using Curry's win over Hartwick. But it happened and you can't tell me otherwise. Hartwick wasn't in the conversation due to the SC loss. That's all I'm saying.

I think that Wick was in the coversation...loss to SC or not.  RPI, Rowan, Montclair, Wick, and Curry were all in the conversation.  Curry got it this year.  I just think the other 4 teams had a better arguement.

Also, I don't know that Curry was the second best team.  I don't know how they would do in the NEFC Bogan Division.  Maybe they would have won, maybe not.

We are going to have to agree to disagree. I don't think Hartwick has a better argument than Curry. I don't think we'll ever see the day where a 7-2 E8 team with a loss to a 3-win team will get a Pool C. That's just the world we, as E8 fans, live in.

As a frame of reference, the 2004 Ithaca Bombers went 8-2, 5-1, with a 2OT loss on a controversial play at Fisher and on a last second FG miss to a Brockport team with a 6-4 record. Ithaca didn't make it, either. That's how it goes.

Again, I'm not arguing that Curry deserved the nod over Rowan or Montclair. All I'm saying is that Curry has a better argument than Hartwick.

In Regards to the Fisher '08 Season:

Before I go on a tirad that will no doubt be critisized to the who cares about winning, let's just play and fun crowd -

I want to take a moment and give massive amounts of praise to #83 TIM MARION

The most important things that happen on a football field are often the toughest to measure from  a stats perspective.  I have watched this kid play these last few years and the guy is tough.  Not the fastest, yet finds a way to make others miss, and gain YAC.  He leaves all on the field, scrapping, fighting, trying to help the team win.

To me, nothing quite captured what this guy was all about until the 4th quarter of yesterdays game.  Catches the ball short of the first down marker, as he always found a way to do, got to the first down point, ended up fumbling, ball bouncing 5 to 7 yards in front of him, only to shake loose the 3 Alfred players draped all over him to hustle to recover the fumble and keep the drive going.

Great play, great player, great career.

ok tuff guy... we'll look out for your "tirad".  Who cares about winning?  Playing for fun crowd?  you're barking up the wrong tree... Beat it Nerd

Oh how BoSox never seems to spit out such jibberish. Dude your team opened the door last year and gave the NEFC some validity towards the committee. ****ing WNEC and then losing to Curry? Come on, your team blew it and your unrealistic tone all year only hurts Wick and their players who no doubt bust there ass. Many things should be left unsaid for the respect of the players. Yet when you honk your Wick horn you make people call you out on your ****. Damn NEFC with two teams I never thought I'd see the day. Well I wish them luck I just hope they both get monkey stomped. I for one will be at the Ithaca game over the Bart game because I want to see Grassdorf go to work!

i dont think last year should be considered that much... but i understand that you like to look to the past since thats all you have to live off...

they screwed themselves only by losing to Springfield.

O.K. BoSox then lets look to the future...I would love for our teams to meet next year wouldn't you? See dude the difference is I don't talk crazy **** about my team and blow smoke up everyone's ass who points out reality to you. I am well aware of the Dutchmen's reality as well as Wicks next year. See dude I actually like Wick and think Boltus is the ****! You guys are great and really have made for some entertaining posts.

We are just as mad about RPI, Rowan, and Montclair not getting in over Curry as we are about Wick.

Great point.....

Curry didn't lose to a 3-win team, either. Curry can't help that their conference sucks. Beyond a win against 6-4 Fisher, what about the Hartwick resume jumps off the paper at you? We'll never know, but I bet Hartwick came in 5th in the choice between Curry, Montclair, Rowan, RPI, and the Hawks for that Pool C.

For the 400th time today, when you're a 2-loss team YOU CANNOT LOSE TO A 3-WIN TEAM AND EXPECT A POOL C. That's the long and short of it. The final nail in the Hartwick coffin was driven in on November 8th by Springfield. To sit here and pretend like they had a shot at that Pool C is a pipe dream and is patently absurd.
