And all this previous talk about booting Hilbert or someone out of the LL.  Rochester should be booted for charging for their video streams.

You win.  Let me know where to send the check.  The ads are killing me.  $100 fair?  I'm 90% serious here.

I hope you are doing well and are having a fun October.  Halloween is almost here and I know how much you like pumpkin lattes and cinnamon beer during the fall.  Let's hope November brings us all good tidings and peace of mind.

Wishing you peace and good things ahead.

Your friend (and All-American poster with over 9,000 quality posts),

PS:  I think your poll is amazing and Ithaca should be where they are.

Quote from: Pat Coleman on October 06, 2025, 03:51:20 PMGoing to guess that in the mind of the two voters who have Ithaca on their ballot, it may be that Ithaca's loss is to Johns Hopkins, who nobody should hold against a team for losing to. RPI's is to Utica, which is not the same.

While you are likely correct, that path of thinking was a week late.

I like to think those two voters frequent these boards, saw your comments last week, decided you were right, and changed their votes accordingly.

It's a ****ing joke and they should be ashamed of themselves. It's real, "let them eat cake" type ****. Can you imagine being the parent of a player, shelling out all that $ for your kid to go to U of R, and they have the balls to charge you to watch your kid play each week?

Correct me if I am wrong, but, it is my understanding that if Rochester ever sequered a berth for either an NCAA tournament game or an ECAC Bowl game one of the requirements they must meet to host such an event is to providing a live feed at no cost!!!

If I am correct, then there is no real reason on earth why the Liberty League can't require the same thing for all conference games their member institutions hosts.

As for non conference games, the Liberty League would probably be overstepping their bounds to require the same thing. For those games this particular institution can continue to be their usual arrogant, greedy selves!!!

Pat Coleman

Yes, if Rochester hosted a postseason game they would not be using FloSports to host it.

Presumably, the Liberty League could impose something like this on its membership, but of course, U of R has been doing PPV for several years already.

Here we go again:

Mach's Stoopid Week 6 Predictions for Jerks:

Hilbert - 0
Rochester - 60
Yeah, this score is probably legit.

Buffalo State - 6
RPI - 48
RPI's schedule is fluffy the next few weeks and I hope they mop up as expected.

Hobart - 16
Union - 14
Unquestionably, the game of the week, and a coin flip to be honest. Union is showing signs of being a contender so this prediction could go sideways. But even in an RPI beatdown last week, Hobart showed some signs that this season could have gone way differently. There's a ton of talent there, they just haven't put it all together consistently.

Ithaca - 38
St. Lawrence - 10
Ithaca hasn't done much offensively, but this one, on paper, shouldn't be close.

The Mach hath spoken.

D3football's Greg Thomas has come out with his yearly Ranking of Conferences column and as we have been discussing the Liberty League has taken a nosedive. After ranking 6-8 the last few years and 8th last year guru Thomas now has the LL in 14th place. :(   This is understandable because league members have just not fared well in non conference games so far going 9-13. Thing is they're playing tougher foes...The E8 is ranked 6th.  :'(

Without knowing the criteria, I'd go on a limb to say the Hilbert add contributes to this dip quite a bit.

Exactly. We now have not one but 2 teams in the bottom 20% of teams, and the newer (2nd) team is in the bottom 5%. Not only does their record and poor performance out-of-conference pull the league down, but they also lower the SoS of every team in the league.

I mean, I agree that even without Hilbert, this would be a relatively down year for the LL. But the drop from 8 to 14 is crazy.

All of the above. The bottom got heavier, and it's been a minute since the LL scored a big win.  They play a lot of higher profile games (I hope they don't stop doing this), those games just haven't gone the way of the LL recently.

Looking at some two deeps today, it is pretty striking how young the LL is nearly across the board.  Ithaca, Hobart and Union each have just 3-4 seniors starting on defense; the offenses are a little more senior, but not by much.  And lots of freshman and sophomores starting all over.  (I couldn't find an RPI two deep, so maybe they are an exception.) My hunch is the LL bounces back pretty hard the next few years in terms of out-of-conference performance.
