Kind of crazy that Wheaton is just the 9th team to be voted #1 in the 23 years of the d3Football Top 25. Here's hoping for more parity - and fewer dynasties - in the years ahead.

ETA: For better or worse, Mt Union is still on the outside looking in.

Salisbury lost to friggin Rowan and is still in and THAT propelled Rowan into the top 25 too??? There are some major boners for the NJAC this year. Dickinson gets more votes than Mount??? LOL. I'm sorry. I just find this a little funny. Doesn't much matter, but let me chuckle.

I was checking out Logan's website and I noticed that Hobart's SOS is the seventh highest nationally at this point in the season( it will slip way down in the next few weeks). Other than the complete and utter barf job in Troy, the team has played well but 3-3 is still disappointing. Given Brockports 4-1 start that 27-14 win looks good now for this young team, and of course the Union win.

Yeah, it kinda explains Hobart's start.

They've got the four worst teams on their schedule in the next four weeks. Flip the schedule upside down, they might be 5-1 with a narrow loss to Ithaca being the only blemish. They'll end up 7-3 for sure.

Congrats to this weeks Offensive and Defensive LL Performers Hobart's   EJ Taylor( Sr.RB) and MJ Wells ( FR LB). You kinda get used to EJ Taylor consistency and he will be sorely missed next season. MJ Wells, is an outstanding LB in the Hobart tradition as he anchors the all Freshman LB starters at Hobart. He had 6 solo tackles, 6 assists, 1.5 TFL and a pick six as he decoyed the Union QB on the first series. He should have been on the D3Football Weekly list but Lincoln Moore of Trinity was named in a game against Hamilton(no comparison to Union) with 9 solo tackles , 4 assists and 2 breakups.... the exceptional performance by MJ Wells was really special. Looking forward to watching MJ in the future.

I fully agree with Pat. Have you actually seen Hamilton, Mr. Bartman? Sure, they don't typically win more than 1-3 games in a season. But their league...the NESCAC...that's like the SEC of D3. Just absolute monsters physically, mentally, socially. No one stands a chance in the postseason against whoever they decide to throw out there. And Union would get absolutely destroyed by Hamilton. Union would look like Hilbert in that game. The NESCAC is unstoppable. Finally this year we'll see their complete football dominance to match their trust fund and overall world dominance. It's science, Bartman. None of us should attend a game either because, well, there goes our wives and anything we've ever accomplished in life. Just vaporized immediately with a single glance of a NESCAC alum. It's the NESCAC's world, we're just living in it. Just accept facts.

Thank you Mach for opening my eyes to my obvious blind spot . Although I did check my stats for the two players in question and those were verified for accuracy. I even checked the number of opportunities to make a tackle and Union ran 59 plays and Hamilton ran 72 plays, so MJ Wells had fewer opportunities to tackle a Union player than Lincoln had to tackle a Hamilton player . I did think the pick six was a good tie breaker over 2 pass breakups. So, other than a judgement comment like Hamilton does not compare to Union , I felt I did my research to advocate for MJ Wells. It's just my opinion but I think Hamilton at 0-4 and Union at 3-3 speaks for itself.I even checked Hansen to see how he ranked the teams and Union is #60 and Hamilton is #115 . Now, D3Football voters are entitled to their opinions and judgements and I respect Pat and enjoy the content. But in this case, I feel my disagreement and advocacy for MJ's performance over Lincoln was fair and accurate.
After reviewing this post, I am now a bit concerned that I need to get a life.  ;D

I don't know Bartman. I think you just need to accept the NESCAC superiority facts. Just because Hamilton ran the ball 72 times, those tackles were like slaying the friggin Kracken. Tackling a Hamilton running back is like getting in from of a tractor trailer coming across I-90 at 80mph and all you have is a fishing pole and a box of slim jims. It's an impossible feat. And Lincoln Moore III, esq...he did it 9 damn times! Those 2 pass breakups? That's like plucking bullets out of mid-air when a firing squad is trying to take you out. Not apples to apples. Your boy MJ, clearly he just did what was expected tackling the little mooshy Gary Coleman sized Union RBs and catching a little floaty lollipop and accidentally stumbling into the endzone. You gotta see reality. It's not all in the numbers.

Thanks again Mach, I have decided to seek help from my Psychologist neighbor who is a Trinity grad.I'm sure I will be fine after the bye week and a few sessions. He said the first thing I need to address is hoping for a matchup in a post season bowl game against a NESCAC team and beating the crap out of them. Pray for my full recovery.

Made an important correction in your reply. Godspeed with Dr. Remington Pritchard VI. I heard he's wonderful.

Fun little spin of the conversation there, but the false assumption was that I had the Hobart player in my list of nominees to choose from.

Perhaps an apology is in order. Is this because the SID needs to nominate a player to d3Football? All other comments about NESCAC views remain unchanged.

Loving the banter between Mach and Bartman but I have to side with Pat IF Wells wasn't nominated. However knowing how Pat always reads the Liberty League board religiously I present this as evidence that he was aware of Wells' effort...I posted this postgame on Saturday.

"Freshmen LB #22 EJ Wells was spectacular. Right from the opening series he easily read a Luke Sheehan pass, stepped in front of the receiver, and took it to the house for a quick 7-0 lead. The more I watched it was clear Well's assignment was to key on Sheehan (what a concept) and he was constantly in his face. . His stellar play will probably earn him Liberty League and National accolades for this week."

Maybe the Hobart SID didn't read it. :o ......BTW -MJ Wells was named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week.
