Boo yah!

#1 surprise on Rivals.com is USC picking up TJ Bryant, one of the nation's best DB's right from under FSU noses (TJ is from Tallahassee).

Nick Perry (DE from Detroit Rock City) was another nice pick up.

They shouldn't allow anyone who hasn't made a decision to have a press conference.

If things keep going the way they're going at least we'll have 6'5" women who could bodyslam Hulk Hogan, just like the East Germans used to have.  (And those were just their figure skaters!)

+k.  Socialism is on its way.  Every Pres. front runner is a liberal, on both sides.

Talk about McCarthyism!

Without the financial, political backing, and participation of the Kennedys (hint Democrats), there wouldn't have been any McCarthyism.

JT doesn't believe you solve problems in America by creating more government and more taxes.  But every front runner for Pres. does.  Amnesty for illegals... govt healthcare... higher taxes etc.

Thankfully for most politicians, many people don't follow voting records, issues, etc., People vote on hunches, feelings, family history of voting a particular way, spin, and sound bites.

JQV coached TJ a little while he was in law school in Tallanasty.  Great kid.  I am not that surprised he slipped through FSU's fingers.  Bowden doesn't recruit Tallahassee that well for some reason.  He will be a solid addition at USC but is not the kind of player Antonio Cromartie was.

in reality he didnt want to do the presser but felt guilty that so many reporters/tv/satellite trucks were there he felt compelled to still hold a presser eventhough he released a statement earlier in the day saying he still hadnt made up his mind. amazing kid though also one of the top 50 basketball recruits in in the nation. incredible athlete  6'5" 230 lbs. runs a 4.35 40 and benches over 300. in reality he did the right thing he started hoops 2 days after leading the football team to the state championship and really hasnt had time to sit down and go over all the +'s and -'s of every school. so rather than making a bad decision he wants another week or two to really consider his options. pretty smart kid imho not to cave to all the pressure. funniest quote i saw is when his h.s. coach who said last week when joepa visited the school sitting down across the table from him he said it was likened it to what is would be like sitting across from the godfather he said it was surreal...

JT,

Another one for your edification... Abandoned Soviet Rubles.  Back in the day, the Soviets had The Rev exchange his USD for special foreigner rubles and The Rev was allowed to buy stuff.  Dollars were only for black/grey markets.  Marlboros and Levis bought The Rev street cred.  The only thing The Rev has left from the old soviet days are five unplayed copies of Paul McCartney's Back in the USSR album.  The Rev has yet to put them on e-bay, but may do so someday.

By 2000, the North Koreans had abandoned the foreigner's won in special economic enterprise zones and were looking strictly for the greenback.  I bought jars full of some of the best damn honey you ever had.  They prefered freshly printed $100.  Even in the South, if I exchanged my USD on the black market (to avoid bank/gov't interference and fees) I could get more Korean cash if I exchanged crisp, unused Benjamins.  They had more value because business men would want to show their buddies that they were so well-heeled that they could throw down only the crispest, freshest, fattest $100 bills around.  Unused bills sent the message, "I have so much money I don't even need to use these bills!"

Anyway...worthless soviet rubles shown here...http://englishrussia.com/?p=236

joe tilller coach at purdue rips rich rod at me-cheat-again...rich rod w/o doubt the most hated coach in big10 w/o coaching his first game ....

A star recruit's signing-day decision to renege on an oral commitment had Purdue football coach Joe Tiller fuming Wednesday.

Roy Roundtree, a nationally ranked receiver and kick returner from Ohio, signed with Michigan on the first day of the college football signing period. Roundtree committed to Purdue in May and reaffirmed his decision many times since. He signed with new Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez after a visit to Ann Arbor, Mich., last weekend.

"If we had an early signing date, you wouldn't have another outfit with a guy in a wizard hat selling snake oil get a guy at the last minute, but that's what happened," Tiller said.

Roundtree, rated as a four-star recruit on a five-star scale, is described as having breakaway speed. The 6-1, 155-pound receiver played for Ohio power Trotwood-Madison.

"The problem when you lose a recruit at this late date is it's really impossible to bounce back and recover," Tiller said. "You have to wait a full year to recover. Given the position, etc., that could be detrimental.
"On the other side of the coin, maybe the guy did you a favor. It makes you wonder about the guy, the people surrounding him, the people in that building who would let that happen. I can say this: We won't go back in that building again and we won't be the only institution not to."

One of Roundtree's teammates, Michael Shaw, backed out of a commitment to Penn State and signed with Michigan. Several recruiting experts listed those switches among the biggest surprises Wednesday.

Interesting news on Romney bailing out.  Pretty much gives McCain the nomination in my opinion.  Can't see Huck giving a serious run.

Good article in today's LA Times re: McCain getting the "Cold Shoulder" from the conservative side of the GOP:

Huckaphony was only in it to take away votes from Romney.  He's had a back door deal with McCain for 6 weeks or more.  Huck started attacking Fred Thompson then Romney, but never really attacked McCain.

I'll never vote for a Marxist like Clinton or Obama, but McCain has a lot of work to do to get me to like him again.
