Gentleman of LLPP, this is what the fuss (and 5 grand an hour) was all about:

the smoking gun

She ain't not worth a 1,000 per hour, but not too shabby.  A Mackin Ho's man can get her for a few Sea Breezes.  She looks like a chick JT used to run with... Dad owned a pizza place.  Family was a little mobbed up. Early 20's fun, back in the day.

Did everyone get an e-mail from CBS sports about an LLPP vs E8 bracket for March Madness?

I got one, but it was in my Spam Box.  I fished it out before deleting the 97 other messages all promising me 3+ inches by taking their magic pills.

If yours got lost in the Spam box, here's the link.

While TGP struggles thru merger-ville, it's stuff like this in the LLPP that keeps thingz sane.

Holy sheet.  JT just got his Rutgers season tix invoice.  A little success gives way to a one year price hike of 50% on each seat from $20 to $30 in 2008.  And a 100% increase in parking passes $10 to $20.   A waiting list of over 10K sure gives them the stones for this.

But JT is thinking that this still ain't Penn State, Notre Dame, Alabama, Florida etc., just yet.  It is an atmosphere that is building nicely, but it remains to be seen what happens post Ray Rice.

JT was thinking a $5 bump on each is more than fair.  $20 on parking is more than both the Jets and Giants.

pbr feels your pain JT... for the ND game last year px of 1 ticket was $100 and hotel was $350/night w/ 2 night minimum...right out of the chute it could of been $800 clams before food/gas/tolls/alcohol luckily pbr's friend bought a house less than a mile from the stadium across from fraternity row. its a big crib w/ tons of floor space pbr's friend and wife open up the house every home game to anyone who wants to go. pbr's other friends right now w/ season tix and hotel rooms just got done paying just under 10,000 bucks for next seasons 6 seats and a hotel room on weekend home games. psu just hit everyone up w/ another increase...now tix cost 55 for the ticket plus another 50 buck donation per ticket per game to the nittany lion club for the right to buy the ticket a.k.a personal seat license...like taxes football tix prices only go one way...up or opposite of "kristen" for spitzer

Guys, places like ND ask you to "donate" to the school in order to enter the "lottery" for season tickets.  Many "donors" often cut 5 figure checks when they enter the "lottery".  It's funny, that not all that many people who cut the $100 checks get the tickets they wanted, yet MR's Grandfather, who is the first of about 8 of MR's family of ND alums, donates heavily consistantly gets his.

Maybe he is just luckcy. :-\

**Any individuals—alumni, parents, or Friends—whose annual contributions total $1,500 or more will have improved chances for success to multiple home games.

It could be worse.  Like everywhere else, UF always required you to be a booster to get season football tickets.  Now, the demand is so high, you have to be a Bull Gator (the highest level of booster membership requiring a donation of $12,000 per year) to get season tickets.  Of course, this doesn't include people that got in before Hogtown became Titletown.  They can renew without being Bull Gators.  Also, the waiting list is now long enough, that there are some Bull Gators that don't have tickets.  In the old days, your $12K also automatically got you hoop season tickets.  Now you have make a separate $12K to be a basketball Bull Gator to get hoop tickets.

So, to get hoop and football tickets, you are out $24K.

It won't last forever.  The Gators have a very dedicated following but a lot of this is front running non-alums.  Glad I have tickets every Saturday.

your spot on as usual reg...at psu all people requesting regular season tix whether a new request or you had season tix for 50 years will need to donate a certain amount of money to the nittany lion club. in doing so you accumulate points and based on your number of points (more money = more points) is whether and where you get tickets. basically the higher the donation the better chance you get tix between the 40s....are they ho'ing themselves out for the almighty dollar? depends what side of the fence your on...some say absolutely in making this a bidding war others say its supply and demand if people are willing to pay it then its capitalism at its best. hence why pbr's friend bought a house up there. plus he can rent it out on weekends he doesnt go...for hoops games/ wrestling matches also gets a good chunk of change on graduation weekend. (plus all of us doods about to turn 40 can gawk at all the young college girls heading to the frat parties...)

This is why The Rev likes D-III.  The Rev paid about $5 for himself and Dear old Daddy (DoD) for the Hobart v RPI game last year.  Food was free because The Rev is a member of the Statesman Athletic Association.  This year even the tickets and parking may be free because The Rev bumped his SAA donation up a bit. ($100 ?)

The big expense for The Rev is the flight from AZ.

The Rev's DoD is a big supporter of the Penn Quakers and goes to just about every weekend game, home or away.  DoD does donate to Penn, but not in order to get season tickets.  The Rev thinks this whole idea of dropping tens of thousands of dollars just to get season tickets is pretty darn foolish.

No wonder people are foreclosing on their McMansions--they blow useful capital on D-I sports.  Stupid.

Rev if you are that fired up about college football, Reg wants to know how you feel about Hannah Montana concerts!!
