Don't look now but this debate is coming to a Congress near you as all three presidential candidates favor a similar federal bill.

But why wait for that debate, the newly expanded FMLA has a similar cost associated with it...

WORCESTER, Mass., April 2 (UPI) -- Colleges including the University of
Pennsylvania, Clark University and Wesleyan University have begun allowing
students of different sexes to share dorm rooms.
Oregon State University, Ithaca College and Clark University have also taken
the step of allowing male and female students to room together in mixed-gender
dormitories, the Boston Globe reported Wednesday.
"It's definitely a growing movement on campuses across the country," said Clark
University Dean of Students Denise Darrigrand. "It's a new world, and gender
has taken on all kinds of new definitions. It's about being more inclusive, and
it's about keeping pace with the times."
Darrigrand said about 30 students at the school have taken advantage of the
mixed-gender rooms.
Students and college officials said that while romantic partners sharing rooms
is not unheard of, most of the male-female roommate pairings are just friends.
"The typical arrangement is friends, true friends who simply want to live
together," said Jeffrey Chang, a Clark student who lives with a female friend.
"They simply feel more comfortable together, and get along better day to day."

I hope it doesn't go through.  Many Republicans State reps and a few Dems are against it.  They feel with the economy where it is, that NJ can't handle it.  They've also been tossing around universal healthcare for every resident.

A balanced budget is part of NJ constitution.  I don't know how they get around this.  The biggest problem with NJ is that the govt (Repubs and Dems) has been spending like it is still growing double digits (corporate profits, tax revenue) as in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's.  The govt hasn't adjusted for an economic slowdown.  NJ is also way over regulated.  Its hard to create new business and jobs in this state.

JT maybe be raising his family elsewhere in the future.

The main reason KS is still in NJ is mom KS is 81 and not in great health.  Eventually KS will most likely head for PA or NY, possibly WI where beer is basically worshipped.

Remember when LLPP was full of meaningless, mindless, fun-loving posts?  Now, it's all political and serious.  LD11 reads hi news.  He just doesn't like to discuss politics, religion, or other beliefs out loud.  He would rather argue about whether or not he thinks Dylan McKay had something going on on the side with Andrea Zuckerman or how A.C. Slater was allowed to be a 12 sport athlete with only 3 seasons.  The guy played everything.  Just my 2 cents.  Don't take yourselves so seriously, you'll never get out alive.

When The Rev was trying to decide between Hobart and another school, The Rev visited the other school and was appalled when he learned he would not only have to live on the same floor as girls, but also share the bathroom with them.  The Rev quickly put Hobart back on the top of his list because of the all male dorms.

"Rev," LLPP asks, "are you nuts?"

No, I just didn't want to be grinding out a log of wolfbait on the toilet and have some chick walk in and fall over dead from the odor.  Some things are just better left single-sex, like bathrooms.

He didn't run track though.  Zack was the man on the track team.  Although, when was the last time a high school actually had a pep rally for a long distance runner?  Probably had to do that to stroke MPG's agent.
