The 2025 RMC roster is no longer accessible. I assume this means the final touches are being applied in advance of Friday evening's opening game and that we will see it before game time.

I noticed that yesterday also! Pedro once again is keeping his cards close to his chest.Gonna be a warm night in Ashland Friday night.High here will be about 90-95 Friday after an unseasonably cool last two weeks so I would expect some cramping, even with better conditioned teams. Also should mean more substituting across the board.....GO JACKETS!!

^^^ Well, I expect even the coaches can't be entirely certain, until the final practice before the first game, if there might be some attrition, especially among freshmen. And I know there have been in-season changes to some rosters (men's basketball, e.g.) as well. Nothing is ever set in stone.

One of my football alum buddies told me today that you notice Pedro never gives interviews before the season too much, and it wouldnt surprise him if Pedro let it leak out that we were switching to the wishbone or wing T just to confuse an opponent!!....LOL Hes a crafty dude!!

The RMC 2025 roster is now posted. I counted 135 total with 30 freshmen.

Also, I watched the first half of Averett's 64-12 loss at NC Wesleyan last night. It's hard to tell how good NC Wesleyan really is because Averett performed so poorly. The thing that stood out to me about Averett was just how abysmal their tackling was.

jknezek

Averett has been terrible since COVID, but to be honest, with a few season exceptions, they've been poor for the 25 or so years they've been playing.

Hawks88

Averett was fairly competitive under Cleive Adams in his last several years there before he left for Ferrum.

Yep, competitive is a good word. 17,18,19 were the only seasons over .500 since 2009, then back to 03,04,05, and 06. But yeah, in 25 years you have 4 seasons of 7-3 and one of 8-2, program highlights, and 3 seasons of 6-4.

I was talking to my son on the phone while watching the RMC/Dickinson game. He likes to play Magic the Gathering. He asked me if RMC was winning. (He doesn't care, but he knows I do, so he was nice enough to ask.) I said, yes, they're winning, but they aren't playing very well. He said in Magic that's what they call "winning scrappy crappy". I'd say that pretty well sums up tonight's 48-34 win.

Nothing in particular stood out. Just lots of room for improvement in all phases of the game. Final stats don't seem to be available at this moment.

Just took a look at the box score from last night's RMC/Dickinson game. It shows Jackets QB Dante Casciola as going 10 of 12 passing with no interceptions. Something is clearly wrong since his first pass of the game was tipped by a defensive lineman and intercepted by a DB. I've watched the replay and I don't see how it can be anything but an interception. The announcers clearly call it as such.

Speaking of the replay video of the game, just after that interception the replay freezes every time I go to watch it -- at about the 32:08 mark. Once I get it restarted it freezes again about 20 seconds later. I've done this multiple time and it happens every time.

Frozen video?  And, you paid for that, right?  FLOsports?

I was at the game, Jackets did not look as sharp as the recent past.   But, I will say that the Dickinson QB was very good.

Ron Boerger

If Dickinson doesn't turn the ball over five times in the first half (credit to the Jackets where due, certainly especially on the tip drill INTs) it could have been quite a different ballgame.  Their QB losing the ball at the end of the first half just as he was about to take it in was a killer.

Well, the live game broadcast was fine. It's only happening with the archived video. But, yes, the archived videos are a Flo "selling point" so that aspect has to improve.

Yep. His completion percentage wasn't great, but he could get out if trouble and find open receivers very effectively.

Right. So many ways RMC could have lost that game.

ODAC teams go 4-5 this weekend. The most impressive win has to be H-SC over Delaware Valley 38-9. Other winners were RMC, SU, and Roanoke. Losers were Averett, Gallaudet, W&L, Bridgewater, and Guilford.

I watched, off & on, the Central at Illinois Wesleyan game, since RMC plays at Central next Saturday. Central won 27-18. Illinois Wesleyan (5-5 last season) plays in the CCIW which is dominated by national champion North Central and always strong Wheaton. Central (8-2 last season) plays in the ARC which, for the past three years, has been led by Wartburg. I expected Central to win more easily. Perhaps IWU is better than I thought, or Central not quite as good as I expected. But, that doesn't mean anything in relation to next Saturday's game for RMC. It should be a good one.
