Disappointing performance by RMC out in Pella, IA. I'm sure they were motivated, but they just didn't play very well. And it wasn't just the players. Gotta do a little second guessing of the coaching staff, wondering about how they managed the offensive game plan. I'm sure they learned plenty, so I hope it leads to improvements as the season goes on. Credit to Central for plying well. I know the announcers were excited for the win over what they perceive to be a top-quality non-conference opponent. Perhaps, though, the quality can be attributed to RMC teams of the past 2-3 years. This year's team still has a lot to prove.

Almost forgot. Final score: Central 10 - RMC 0.

It was AWFUL!! Looks like the prognosticators were SPOT ON!! The way we've looked the last two weeks we will be lucky to even win the ODAC!! At this point I would favor the Tigers!! We stumbled at home vs Berry last year early but we didn't look as bad as we did today!! All the credit to Central- they MADE US look bad!! Congrats to them on the win.....it's gonna be a long trip home with our tails between our legs like this!! Secondary was not sharp, despite the int's ....we looked tired and slow....we dropped AT LEAST 5 passes... KICKER missed two, albeit long ones but still missed...NO pass rush to speak of....we looked UNINSPIRED....TOTALLY!. Just like we missed to plane to Iowa.....we have MUCH to work on , that's FO SHO!! We better WAKE UP!! Bridgewater....then W&L in Ashland next two weeks....theyre gonna be SMELLING 🩸 BLOOD!! Time to PUT UP OR SHUT UP JACKETS!!

Hey RMC fans, don't be so hard on your team. The heat was really stifling and they were coming off a long day of travel. More than that, Central played one of the best games I have seen them play. I have been watching Central football since 1970. I know when they are playing well. Both teams missed opportunities that could have changed the results. Last year Central's defense was very stingy and they played today like they were playing at the end of the year last year. You hit us on a very good day. You will still win your conference. Good luck and maybe we can meet again. We have another rated team standing in our way.

According to your head coach in the pre-game interview I heard, Central will come to Ashland in 2028. Previous scheduling commitments of both schools the next two seasons preclude an earlier meeting.

ODAC schools were 4-4 today. Winners were Roanoke (@Greensboro), H-SC @ home vs Washington & Jefferson, Guilford @ Methodist, Shenandoah @ Geneva. All those games were fairly competitive.

In addition to RMC, losers were Averett @ home vs Southern VA and Bridgewater @ #4 Susquehanna in blowouts, and W&L in a close loss at Wittenberg.

Gallaudet was idle.

Here's the three things that RMC needs to work on and fix.

First, O-Line
Second, O-Line
Third, O-Line

I don't think it's that simple. Offensively that might be the main thing, but Casciola hasn't looked particularly sharp these first two games (especially yesterday), and neither have the receivers. Central had a good offensive game plan. They seemed to know exactly what they could do to advance the ball (short and mid-range passes mostly) and executed it effectively. The Central QB was 21 of 29, averaging 10.8 yds per completion. So that means a pass defense problem. Their QB was accurate and also mobile. Our defensive line, when it got penetration, couldn't get to him. They looked a bit tired. We have zero sacks in two games and I don't think we've blitzed once.

Lots to work on.

Two different starters on the offensive line today, better results.

Also some changes to the defensive scheme. At least two linebackers (#15 Reyes and #23 Kyger) were used on many snaps as two of four rushers from the line position. I have to think it is because of quickness. Anyway, there was a more aggressive pass rush and a number of blitzes resulting in eight sacks. Reyes had 1.5 sacks.

In the first week of ODAC play:

H-SC 42 - Shenandoah 7
Gallaudet 39 - Averett 30
RMC 27 - Bridgewater 3
W&L 35  - Guilford 7

The H-SC win has to be the most impressive. The Tigers must be the real deal.

RMC looked better in its win than in the first two games. The aforementioned changes certainly helped. Passing game also seemed a little different. A freshman RB (#32 Tristan Overbay) looked good in his first action of the season-- five carries for 33 yards.

I'm starting to come around, and I sure hope you're right, but the last few years have left me reluctant to jump on the bandwagon too soon. W&L have been a real problem for the Tigers recently; if we get by them I just might have to.

Not many people outside of Farmville would have thought HSC would be 3-0. They're improving each week. They're a young team and fun to watch. Well worth the $20.00 charged by Flo!

They opened my eyes and I've been beating the drum that they should garner votes! OOC resume is strong. Then to thump a familiar conference opponent should have their fan base very optimistic this year. Good luck!

This week's Around The Nation is talking Tigers which might be interesting to this group!

W&L-RMC start time moved up to noon because of the rain predicted- I'm not gonna go....just gonna catch it on FloSports....because I didn't want to ride two hours up to stand in the rain....lol......I wonder how the rain may affect our defense against the W&L Triple option attack? Even though they will keep the ball dry and we have a turf field one slip can mean a long run for the Gennies! THATS a tough attack to stop to begin with......hope Pedro has us up to the task!! GO JACKETS!!🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
