My money is on Gallaudet being a one-year affiliate now that they have six core football-playing members.

I was literally thinking the same thing when i tweeted about this just a minute ago. WTF is gallaudet gonna do now?

They said Gallaudet would be a part of the scac through 2027. Does this mean we'll have an odd team out of the SCAC championship then? Is Gallaudet's contract with the scac reduced to just this fall only???

Maybe the language includes something about "only the top six teams in terms of NPI will qualify for the postseason tournament".  Since they are having to line up all their other games outside the SCAC the overall impact is small.

yeah but doesn't lyon being an affiliate member trigger some 2 year waiting period?

I'm away from a desktop to dig this back up but there's some kind of wiggle room that allows qualification as long as the great majority of members were unchanged two years running, even with an affiliate.  That clock started two years ago when Lyon came onboard.  Once you are qualified for a bid all you have to do is retain six members in any configuration (and you have two years to get back to any six which is what saved the ASC).
