They both seem to be behind St. Mary's(MN) for the final at-large.

My guess for Scranton's pod: playing St. Mary's(MD) the 4th seed and Gettysburg(#2) vs W&J(#3).

Yep they updated it !!! I guess that loss to Case Western hurt them also.

Yes, Willy Paterson losing was a bid thief costing Carnegie Mellon; was hoping to see Carnegie in Scranton since their assistant coach was a former prospect of mine.

One major flaw that jumps out to me in D3's projection picks is having Gettysburg at Scranton.
Should they play the Royals on Sat. night & win, that would set up another possible trip to Goldfarb & JHU.
Makes no sense when there are plenty of other options within the 500 mile limit to make the brackets a bit more interesting.
There has to be some flexibility & common sense between sending a 26 somewhere more appropriate as opposed to the true 27 or 28.

Saratoga this is their prediction. They projected Scranton women going to William Patterson a couple weeks ago and the guys hosting . Take it with a grain of salt . OH BY THE WAY SCRANTON WAS NOT EVEN IN THE TOP 4. THAT IS WHY I SAID WHAT I SAID A COUPLE WEEKS AGO LET THE GAMES PLAY OUT. IM SURE THE NCAA WILL BE DIFFERENT TOMORROW ...

Ronk what would be pretty cool having immaculate coming up to Scranton with Coleman playing there!!!

The potential Gettysburg-JHU matchup would be in the Elite Eight.  You can't really keep any conference opponents apart much more than that.  It's the same round where Bates and Bowdoin would be lined up to play, also Ohio Wesleyan and Denison.  Bethel and Concordia.  Platteville and La Crosse.  All of whom are higher ranked than Gettysburg.

I get it but I really hope the committee changes some teams around a little.
This projection just looks too clinical & sterile.
We'll know soon enough.

They don't really have the leeway to do that anymore.  With NPI, you know every seed exactly, not just generally.  They really work to try and keep the seeds as close to correct as possible.

It's the one real loss from the old system, where you could move teams more freely, because we didn't have them ranked against each other nationally.

Great Day to be a Royal

Isn't this a good thing overall?  In March, the right teams are playing each other seeding-wise. If I need a "unique match-up," I'll hope for that in March or December.

I would agree that it's a good thing overall but I think it can also be true that it can limit flexibility for "more fun" matchups.

Just like I think NPI is a way better system because it (a) allows everyone to know exactly where they stand at any point in time, (b) removes subjectivity.

But that doesn't mean at all that NPI is perfect, or doesn't have rough edges. And I think moving to NPI has made the final week and Selection Sunday less fun FOR THE FANS.

As with many things in life, more than one thing can be true at the same time.

It has certainly taken away any of the fun from Selection Monday.

There's a decent chance I'll be up at Scranton on Friday.  If it happens, I'll look forward to seeing you all.
