Taking a look at rosters for each teams last "big games"

I would agree with Bates and Williams for sure - Williams with 6 underclassmen starting and 3 first years with 90.

looking at Tufts last night - only started one underclassman and the majority were seniors/grad students........and only 3 underclassmen off the bench with any decent playing time.....

Don't disagree with your overall point. Mostly upperclassmen playing for the Jumbos. But just to be factually accurate/not misleading, not one grad student touched the field for Tufts and the starting lineup was mostly seniors (but not a resounding majority 6/11)

tomato....point was solely younger vs older teams - to be factual 10 of the 11 were upperclassmen (Jr/Srs). Bates and Williams are fielding much younger teams overall which theoretically may give them more experience for years to come while Tufts may be ready to start cycling out (much like Amherst and others right now).

Wesleyan (which is currently first in NESCAC despite all the skepticism and generally being ignored) is also a very young team which could keep improving next year.

With so many teams in transition, this year feels like one in which a NESCAC national title would be a bit surprising.  I could see 4-5 teams from a very deep league making the Sweet 16, and if that happens anything is of course possible, but it seems like a year without a lot of loaded veteran teams and certainly without one consistently dominant team. There is a ton of young talent in the league but generally when it comes to the biggest stage you want to be relying on upperclassmen who have been there.

The Camels have a big opportunity this weekend to break into the top 4.

Following the topic of youth it has been said to me from some players that for most teams they don't really recognize any of the players they are up against after years of knowing nearly everyone playing.

Must make scouting reports a headache.

I think that player is so correct on that!
