M'bury would jump to #19 in today's RPI if that win is in there (Williams win value will drop to maybe #20 or #21), 57.38 NPI and 56 is around where NPI cutoff was last year. Loss to Conn college for example in first round drops that NPI to 56.85. I think Middlebury is safe, huge win today. Win a couple more in NESCAC and might even host first two rounds.

Long-time listener, definitely not a first time caller, but first in a while and finally got myself to a Bowdoin game while living in Brunswick. The 'Bears and the 'Bos played out to a 0-0 with only a handful of decent scoring chances, the best of which Tufts cleared off the line towards the end of the first half. The ball stayed on the ground most of the first half with some nice interplay, which I didn't expect for a NESCAC game, but started to see more high balls (switches mainly) in the second. Both teams seemed happy with a point by the end.

Thanks for the game summary, Blooter.  I wasn't able to get there or watch online as I had other things going on this evening.  For what it's worth, the stat line seemed to favor Bowdoin.  Was that reflective in the ebb and flow of the game?

Definitely seemed like it! That said, Tufts had the game's last four shots. There was one ball fizzed across the box from Bowdoin #33 with a few minutes left that was begging to be finished but went untouched. IIRC Tufts' best chance was ballooned over the bar with around 15 left.

LOL. Are you referring to me? As the only Midd fan who has posted today, I'm assuming so.

Curious as to how you interpreted my post as a suggestion that Midd will romp easily to a national title.

To recap:

• I stated that Midd had an emphatic win at Williams today
• I stated this locked the Panthers into the 6th seed against an opponent tbd
• I stated that those who calculate NPI numbers predict the win gets Middlebury into the tournament.
• I stated that a win or two in conference tourney would only solidify a tournament berth.

Northman- Welcome to the CAC. Bowdoin hasn't won a meaningful game since Vietnam. Rueda Duran had a few too many burgers this summer so he's capped at 10 minutes a game. Excited to see the Panthers Maul the Polar Bears this weekend.

What are the chances Hamilton sneaks into the National tournament Kansas Hokie?

Hamilton is going to be a sort of interesting team. They have only one more game now and I have that as a win. That will give them a final NPI of 55.784 which is going to be very very close to the cut line. Hamilton fans will want to cheer for no "bid stealers" (unexpected conference tourney champions). Cheer hard for Bowdoin to win NESCAC as that's Hamilton's only team they beat that it's in the conference tourney. After that, Wesleyan and Middlebury would be good. Ithaca winning their conference also would help. Any small bump up could be the difference. There will be wiggles up and down as the games come in. Should be interesting.
