We are now in the final two weeks of the regular season.  From now on, the NCAA DIII Men's Soccer Committee is planning to do daily runs of the NPI numbers and release daily NPI summary reports until the end of conference tournament play on Sunday, November 9.  The final report released will then indicate that it is the selections report and the at-large teams will be picked from that report.

This most recent daily NPI run covers games through Friday, October 31, 2025.

The report is available at http://stats.ncaa.org/selection_rankings/nitty_gritties/46514

NESCAC teams nationally ranked by NPI as of this report

1.) Tufts (#1 in NPI)-- 60.947
2.) Bowdoin (#4 in NPI)-- 59.205
3.) Connecticut College (#9 in NPI)-- 58.582
4.) Wesleyan (#10 in NPI)-- 58.450
5.) Williams (#13 in NPI)-- 58.222
6.) Middlebury (#18 in NPI)-- 57.621
7.) Amherst (#29 in NPI)-- 57.050
8.) Hamilton (#37 in NPI)-- 55.869
9.) Bates (#50 in NPI)-- 55.193
10.) Colby (#54 in NPI)-- 55.135

10 of the 11 NESCAC men's soccer teams currently carry quality win bonuses, as their NPIs are above 54.

11.)  Trinity (CT)  (#146 in NPI)-- 51.654

Gritty win today out of the Panthers as they take down a mediocre team in Bowdoin. I'm curious to hear Northman's take on what went wrong for the polar bears today. If the Panthers keep seeing teams as soft as Bowdoin they will romp easily to a NESCAC title.

I've never seen someone start a NESCAC game and come out 7 minutes in. At some point Rueda Duran needs to take accountability for his actions and find the salad bar. Huck was all over the pitch trying to cover for his over-sized partner on the right side.

Excited to see the Panthers walk through Tufts this Saturday.

The Middlebury late show came to Brunswick, as the Panthers pilfered a 2-1 win over Bowdoin. Saw the first half on video, second in-person. The hosts appeared to have more possession and it was one-way traffic on the stat line, and Bowdoin had a massive chance for 2-0 that was deflected out for a corner, but the Panthers pulled an equalizer out of nowhere with about 20 to go on a 1-v-1, before a brilliant free-kick from the #10 won it with less than 10 remaining. Despite the bluster of our new friend, most Midd fans I heard sounded pretty grateful to be level — albeit they had one big header chance right after Bowdoin's opener — but the winner was beautifully hit over the wall and into the left corner. Both teams had some dangerous balls across the box that went untouched, and the Polar Bears had a big opportunity for 2-2.

Camelparent

The Camels are heading to Boston. After Max Haberman broke a couple ankles to slot one in, a GVB wonder strike put them up 2-1. This makes it 16 in a row against Williams eliminating them from the NESCAC championship 4 times in the past 5 years. For Williams as the great Joel Embiid says this is not a rivalry as they always kick our ...

Curious to see how far Amherst will fall down the rankings currently sitting at 29th.

Quote from: flyingdutchman on October 08, 2025, 03:10:29 PMWesleyan's recent results have been impressive, don't get me wrong; however, watching them play, I don't understand how they are getting the results they are. Talking about Wesleyan as a potential league winner seems absurd to me. They are proving they are hard to beat, but I don't think anyone in their offense is particularly threatening. I don't see them advancing past the first round of the NESCAC tournament, unless it's a 0-0 tie and they win it in penalties. Maybe they will continue to prove me wrong, but these results have to be a fluke

Quote from: flyingdutchman on October 13, 2025, 08:55:24 AMWesleyan got another impressive result this weekend. Yet, I'm still not convinced by them and will stand by my prediction that they don't make it past the quarter finals of the NESCAC tournament. If they win the NESCAC regular season, I truly believe it is the WORST team to win the regular season in the last 10 years. Results are results and you can argue it doesn't matter how the game is played if you win, but if you actually watch this Wesleyan team, they aren't very good. In my opinion, past teams that won the NESCAC just way looked more convincing and dominant. Who knows, maybe they will continue to prove me wrong but I'm convinced this run ends soon.

Quote from: flyingdutchman on October 18, 2025, 06:11:54 PMI've said it multiple times, Wesleyan is overrated. Yes, Bowdoin is dangerous and can get results, but I am confident this is the beginning of the downfall of this Wesleyan team.

Not sure Bowdoin is Mediocre.  current NPI is 4th nationally and they just tied Tufts who is the leader of the pack.  Midd just wore out Bowdoin and scored 2 clutch goals in last 16 minutes of play.  Midd has been on a tear as of late (3-0 shellacking of Williams last Tuesday).  Saturdays match against Tufts should be interesting.

Nice Wesleyan! So exciting they are going to the NESCAC semis they are surely going to win the whole thing. Since those posts they proceeded to Lose to Bowdoin, Tie to Colby and Tie to Conn before today. So wouldn't say it aged like milk. Their downfall has started since those posts.... Amherst did it to themselves today losing with 14 seconds left. This Amherst team is young and unconvincing would be hilarious if they don't make the tourney. Will give credit to Wesleyan for the second goal, it was a banger + a winner in the final minute.

Amherst NPI will drop to around 56.59 which would be #32. Would take 5 at-large bids being stolen to knock them out of NCAA. Hamilton is still below Amherst and would be knocked out 3 places earlier.

Do you anticipate Hamilton/Amherst to continue to climb in NPI from other nescac results and strength of schedule? Also where is the cutline for at larges currently?

It's hard to tell what other results will do because I think the NESCAC tourney results cancel out. I think the out of conference matches that are still in their NPI are more influential. I posted a full list of at-large current cutline (#38, Rowan) in the NPI bubble thread, there's also a list there of which conferences could steal bids and raise the cutline.
