Sandon Mibut

A friend involved in soccer showed me the an account on some soccer website named Sandon Mibut probably 15-20 years ago and it has always stuck with me.

I promise I am not the same person if you're familiar with the original Sandon and I am not trolling.

Camera at the Brandeis field is zoomed out a million miles so it's hard to see anything. Tufts got a lucky call to get the PK. Then a long throw in to header-header for the 2nd. I missed the 3rd.

Some first half reactions on NESCAC games

- Tufts, Bowdoin, and Wesleyan taking care of business against weak opponents

- Lyon did score a nice goal from distance against Bowdoin, but they are being thoroughly outclassed, particularly when they are on defense.  They get drawn to the ball on the end line and Bowdoin often has several options along the goal to pass to for the tap-in.

- Conn College scored just before half, but St. Joseph's is frustrating them.  It easily could have gone to half 1-0 St. Joseph's on a shot that a defender cleared off the line.

Midd's Casanova RC final 30 seconds

Does that mean Midd plays down a man tomorrow or simply Casanova cannot play?

Can't play. They play with 11.

There was confusion and the second yellow card was given in error, because he did not have a first yellow card.  The box score was corrected.  He has one yellow card from that game and will be permitted to play tomorrow.

The fact that the ref screwed up a simple math calculation that bad was emblematic of his performance all game.  Imagine if SUNY scored a tying goal while Midd was a man short bc of a massive screwup.

NESCAC again proving they deserve several at-large bids each year. If only this were the case during my time playing...

Wow. Amherst out. Did not expect that. Think another nescac team has a really good shot of winning this thing.

Another year without a trophy for Middlebury, what a disappointing team

Sandon Mibut

Tough losses for Middlebury and Wesleyan: both appeared to be fairly dominant in all stats other than GF.

NESCAC with 4 teams in the Sweet 16 but maximum 3 to Elite 8 and maximum 2 to Final 4.

Cross posted from NCAA Tourney thread:
Here's some interesting background on the Messiah team this year as they travel to Tufts for the Sweet 16:

Lost their first 5 games (gave up 17 goals in this stretch!)
Then went 3-2-2 mid-season (11 GF, 8 GA in this stretch but 5 GA in a single game against Lynchburg)
Since the 10/8/25 loss to Lynchburg, they're 10-0-0 with 23 GF and 1 GA!

However it must also be noted that, prior to the NCAA tournament, Messiah's best win was over #138 Stevenson. Messiah lost every game it played against top-100 opponents before the NCAA tourney:
Sept Loss #24 Scranton 0-2
Sept Loss #240 Claremont Mudd Scrip 3-4
Sept Loss #32 Rowan 3-4
Sept Loss #22 Dickinson 0-3
Sept Loss #65 Salisbury 0-4
Sept Loss #61 Univ Mary Washington 0-2
Oct Loss #4 Lynchburg 1-5

Just looking at the stats from Messiah's Round of 64 and 32:
Fairly even stats vs #16 Hobart for the 1-0 win early in 1st OT. Hobart was undefeated but I also think most of Hobart's opponents were fairly middling.

Outshot #37 Calvin 21:9 in a 3-0 win however Calvin did manage 8 corners vs Messiah's 0.

Google Maps says it's nearly 7 hours to drive from Messiah to Tufts.

I just wanted to come on here and give a big congratulations to Conn College. What a season for a team that has demonstrated a clear lack of grit, camaraderie, athleticism and talent. Going to be a tough weekend for them in Medford, but they should be so proud that they were able to make it this far with the team they have.

They got hosed by the ref on a clear goal on a corner and trip in the box by Wheaton GK.  2 PKs for Wheaton (both saved by Midd GK) - lots of home cooking.  I dont see Wheaton getting past sweet 16.
