May be time for a coaching change in Memphis.  The current HC has been there since '21 and after a couple of years of improvement (5-5 in '22, 6-4 in '23 with recruits primarily from his predecessor) it's been all downhill since.  They even managed to lose to perennial punching bag Austin, they of the no winning record since the turn of the century, this year.

On another note, just to show how important your competition (and competition's competition is) when it comes to NPI, prior to this week's games Trinity had the top NPI in the country.  Berry destroys Rhodes and Trinity drops two places.  Trinity easily beats Southwestern and now (per D3Datacast) they are sixth.  The Rhodes result will drop from the Berry calculation once the Vikings win their fifth game, and similarly should Trinity beat Maryville this weekend, they'll drop the Southwestern result.  That game is certainly looking like much more of a battle than it was a few weeks ago, with the Scots finding their footing as of late.  And OBTW the only team with a worse NPI than Rhodes is Gaulladet.

Also - Hardin-Simmons is now #2 in NPI.  If they and Trinity both win out it sets up the NCAA's nightmare scenario where both likely end up with top eight seeds and thus could not play each other in the first three rounds should both advance that far.  That would come as a relief to the folks in Abilene who have seen their season come to an end in San Antonio three of the last four years.

I assume it was not planned for Hondo to take the majority of the snaps yesterday - seemed he only came in full time when offense kept stalling under Horn. The biggest difference between the two from my perspective is that Hondo trusts his receivers to be in the right place and to go up and make a play, whereas Horn still seems to be looking only for someone who is truly open. That former comes with experience, obviously, but it's crucial at this level to trust your guys to make a play.

Hondo is a gunslinger and you live and die by that, but the offense looked completely different when he was on the field yesterday versus Horn. Urban might have to rethink who leads the team come playoff time, though lots can happen between now and then.

Yes, because those three things would solve everything.

Get better would be my simple advice. They're in Memphis. Tons of talented kids in the area that could do the academics. To suggest otherwise is either entitled laziness in recruiting or "the soft bigotry of low expectations."

Don't disagree with this take at all.  It is possible that Horn re-aggravated his hamstring injury or that it was still bothering him (though I didn't watch the game as I was otherwise busy yesterday).
