I know, I know, very few like F&M which is all good. Not at the Amhate level, but still something.

My personal prediction is that F&M might get a few more wins, but will most likely end up like last season. Just is what it is.

What is not discussed is that F&M just added its 16th freshman to its roster https://www.instagram.com/p/DbrcR6bNoGl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Really, really, really interesting. IMO, probably Dan Wagner's biggest coaching challenge in long time. With low expectations this year, he appears to be looking to make a difference. We will see from the roster, how many are left from last year's team.

FYI, Dan is doing what many colleges love, enrolling men into the college, esp. in one that has been shrinking. So he's doing his part concerning the administration.

It will be interesting to see their final roster to see if they are replacing or enlarging.

I did a quick check of Centennial schools who announce their recruits on Instagram to see the numbers. Some of these may include transfers, but F&M's number certainly stands out.

F&M 16
McDaniel 12
Muhlenberg 11
Dickinson 11
Haverford 9
Washington College 8
Ursinus 7
Hopkins (incomplete - just started announcing and have 4 so far)

Gettysburg and Swarthmore haven't announced on Instagram

Who gave Stevenson a 1st place vote? I'm guessing York hates Messiah and refused to vote for them?

I just assumed that the MAC Commonwealth allows coaches to vote for their own team.

Just saw that Messiah has 10 freshman coming in!  With 26 on the roster that means the freshman class will make up almost 40% of the roster this season.  Two freshman and one sophomore from last year are not showing on this year's roster - one of the freshman was #13 Ethan Quadrini, who contributed quite a few minutes last year off the bench and scored 3 goals.

I see 2 FR from last fall who aren't on this year's roster, but I don't see any others missing. Which SO did I miss?

Quadrini's absence is probably the most significant. He was a mega scorer and regional AA in HS, but his minutes dropped last fall toward the end of the conference schedule and he didn't get a lot of PT in the tournament. I was impressed by him on the field. I have no information about why either of the FR did not return. Most seasons the turnover is small, or even no turnover.

There were 7 sophomores last year and now only 6 juniors are showing on the roster.  The missing sophomore is #22 Jonathan Kidd, defender.  He started in one game and appeared in another 12 games off the bench last year.

With almost 10 years gonesince the last National Championship, a culture of hazing that was recently exposed, and less players and families willing to drink the kool-aid (previously tolerated due to winning ways), I think this may be a new normal in Grantham.

O'Connor is listed as a freshman again on the roster - believe he was hurt all of last season? That might be the missing person you were looking for.

I think for the first time in a long time predictions in the Cent. Conf. is really tough. Dickinson is obv. the easy pick, but they graduated some big players. IMO, it is totally up for grabs. At least three or four teams could win it and I am not saying that F&M will finish near the top 5 with 16 freshman.

Also Hop has been late posting its roster so there may be some grad students added. Just something they do if I remember correctly. So could be stronger especially with the 5 years new rule.

VASoccerDad

From my understanding there is no 5 year rule in D3, at least not yet anyway. Thought it wasn't up for a vote until January 2027?

Someone correct me if I am wrong...
