Quote from: CentPA on August 20, 2026, 04:08:14 PMJust saw that Messiah has 10 freshman coming in!  With 26 on the roster that means the freshman class will make up almost 40% of the roster this season.  Two freshman and one sophomore from last year are not showing on this year's roster - one of the freshman was #13 Ethan Quadrini, who contributed quite a few minutes last year off the bench and scored 3 goals.
I see 2 FR from last fall who aren't on this year's roster, but I don't see any others missing. Which SO did I miss?

Quadrini's absence is probably the most significant. He was a mega scorer and regional AA in HS, but his minutes dropped last fall toward the end of the conference schedule and he didn't get a lot of PT in the tournament. I was impressed by him on the field. I have no information about why either of the FR did not return. Most seasons the turnover is small, or even no turnover.

O'Connor is listed as a freshman again on the roster - believe he was hurt all of last season? That might be the missing person you were looking for.

Good catch Scot_Fan with O'Connor.  So, let's try this again ...

Messiah is adding 9 NEW freshman this year (not 10 - O'Connor is a freshman again for eligibility purposes??).  There are just two players from 2025 not on this years roster:  #13 Ethan Quadrini (freshman last year) and #22 Jonathan Kidd (sophomore last year).

Someone correct me if I am wrong...

You are right! Hop did have 3 grad players last year. May have some this year as well.

Quote from: SierraFD3soccer on August 06, 2026, 12:46:28 PMI know, I know, very few like F&M which is all good. Not at the Amhate level, but still something.

My personal prediction is that F&M might get a few more wins, but will most likely end up like last season. Just is what it is.

What is not discussed is that F&M just added its 16th freshman to its roster https://www.instagram.com/p/DbrcR6bNoGl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Really, really, really interesting. IMO, probably Dan Wagner's biggest coaching challenge in long time. With low expectations this year, he appears to be looking to make a difference. We will see from the roster, how many are left from last year's team.

FYI, Dan is doing what many colleges love, enrolling men into the college, esp. in one that has been shrinking. So he's doing his part concerning the administration.

It will be interesting to see their final roster to see if they are replacing or enlarging.

I did a quick check of Centennial schools who announce their recruits on Instagram to see the numbers. Some of these may include transfers, but F&M's number certainly stands out.

F&M 16
McDaniel 12
Muhlenberg 11
Dickinson 11
Haverford 9
Washington College 8
Ursinus 7
Hopkins (incomplete - just started announcing and have 4 so far)

Gettysburg and Swarthmore haven't announced on Instagram

To update these numbers

Swarthmore 12 (with a roster of 30! 40% of the roster is pretty hefty)
Gettysburg 10 (for comparison, with a roster of 40)

Only a half of soccer in the Rutgers Newark v. F&M. Game was cancelled after the 2nd lightning delay.

Score was 1-1. RN scored first after a F&M hit the cross bar during during a set piece. RN goal was good, but F&M did not play decent defense before the shot. F&M's goal before the half was nice from a set piece. F&M definitely was dangerous during set pieces. Run of play we will see.

While it's early, the CC starting off a little rusty in OOC games.

3-4-1, with F&M and McDaniel yet to play.

The F&M played a half and it was 1-1 when they called the game after the 2nd lightening delay.

No announcers for F&M - W&L as the announcers are doing the F&M football game. Don't know about the broadcast of the JHU Vassar game.  I know we've had some kinetic weather in MD area. That time of the year.

Hopkins has an incredible stream going right now.  Multiple angles, replays, great quality picture.

Got it through the Cent. Conf app, but not on line.

Brutal ending for Hop. Rough goalkeeping at the end.

F&M def. will have to be better. Did not really threaten all game. W&L played alright. Hop is going to angry Sunday.

I just followed the link from the Liberty League site, had a link to the CC site with the stream.

Umm Hop???  Miss a pk and give up a lame hand ball in the box without almost any time left??

SierraFD3soccer

F&M played nicely. Wouldn't say amazing, but got two nice goals and played decent defense. 2nd goal was by a freshman and very like many Oscar Horwitz's. FYI, last time F&M won at home was against Elizabethtown on Sept 13th, so just short of a year. Last win was in October.

Still early.

Brutal loss for Hop. Def. should not be a loss. Poor kid. He'll never forget that casual move. Though Hop has a win, the last two have been tough.

Also still early.

Another Mom

W&L dominated that game; neither team was effective in their final third.

I really don't know why Hopkins does that odd pk technique. The anmouncer said it was successful, but I've seen it used twice against W&L and both times it was a dismal failure.

Appleby is man on an island. His team was missing so, so many pks before until he mandated this style. See NCAA's v. Stevenson (pathetic pk taking). Whether W&L dominated the game or not, they did not score a goal in the run of play. Basically won because Hop is inept. However, a win is a win is a win.
