Very interesting, Flying Dutch Fan.  Of the guys not (so far as I've seen) in the portal, these are guys who seem like they could potentially move up at some point in their careers if they are so inclined.  To the extent they stick around, I suspect they will form a big chunk of the pre-season all-American teams:

Kye Robinson, Mary Washington
Noah Cleveland, IWU
Toa Hollanbeck, CNU
Elijah Farrington, Mount Union
Cameron Perkins, Mass-Boston
Myles Barnett, Gustavus
Tanner Overby, Willamet
Dorian Glogovach, CalTech
JJ Semanko, Augustana
Remijo Wanji, St. Joseph's
Zach McLaughlin, Maine-Farmington
Jayden Thomas, Desales
Parker Hovey, Hope
Connor May, WashU
Zay Brown, Monmouth
Tray Huguley, MUW

Ralph Turner

My seeing Dorian Glacovach from Cal Tech is interesting.
What would prompt someone to go somewhere else and would it be to use a 5th year at another university where a postgraduate degree would complement his undergraduate degree?

Just random thoughts, Wharton at U Penn?

nescac1

Yeah, I think many of these guys, like a May or Glacovach, may be perfectly content to stay in D3 even if D1 is a strong possibility. It just depends on how much you prioritize hoops; if you go to CalTech, most likely you have other priorities!  Going the other direction (D1 to D3), I doubt Jeff Van Gundy regreted leaving Yale and ending up at Nazareth in order to play hoops ...

He might like the new coach at MIT who's hitting the recruiting trail pretty hard.  One would assume you can get into MIT if you've already been admitted at Caltech.

So if there are any seniors coming back or if there's a grad transfer, it's because they were probably injured previously? The extra COVID year is gone now and they haven't passed the 5th year of eligibility rule, right?

Correct.

The NCAA has said they aren't going to go down the 5 year eligibility road. All that talk was pushed by NIL agents trying to will it into existence.

And, unsurprisingly, LEC player of the year Cameron Perkins follows his teammate Raphael Laurent into the portal.  Another likely D1 guy ...

Nescac,
Would appreciate a link to the similar transfer portal for D3 women's basketball.

Ronk, unfortunately I don't have access to the portal itself.  This info is compiled from a variety of different open sources.

Four more big-time entries over the last day or so:

Noah Cleveland, Illinois Wesleyan, Zay Brown, Monmouth. Tray Huguley, MUW, and Kabrien Goss, Montclair State.  Cleveland seems like a D1 scholarship lock, probably a mid-major sort of profile for him.  The rest -- all of them all-region guys with two years of eligibility left - would seem like guys who could end up in D1 as well.

On my list from last week of "guys remaining to watch" the guys with an * have all entered the portal over the past four days.  I seriously doubt they will be the last:

Kye Robinson, Mary Washington
Noah Cleveland, IWU*
Toa Hollanbeck, CNU
Elijah Farrington, Mount Union
Cameron Perkins, Mass-Boston*
Myles Barnett, Gustavus
Tanner Overby, Willamet
Dorian Glogovach, CalTech
JJ Semanko, Augustana
Remijo Wanji, St. Joseph's
Zach McLaughlin, Maine-Farmington
Jayden Thomas, Desales
Parker Hovey, Hope
Connor May, WashU
Zay Brown, Monmouth*
Tray Huguley, MUW*

With Cleveland entering the fray, that means that every regional POY who has eligibility left is now in the portal!!!
