Well I'm sucking up my FloSports anger and taking my boys to Atlanta for the W&L-Emory and W&L-Ogelthorpe games.

So those will be the games I'm watching and possibly the only ones this season until the NCAA tournament.

One game to watch is Trinity University (Texas) v. Clairmont Muddy Scripts, Friday 8/29/2025 at 8:00 p.m. CST.  It's Coach Paul McGinlay v. his long time assistant Ed Cartee. Cartee has done a great job bringing CMS into the national picture and Trinity has always been there. The game will be played at Trinity and the video production will be top shelf. Don't miss it.

Also, Trinity play the University of St. Thomas on Sunday at 6:00 at Trinity. The game is always spicy and will tell us a lot about what type of team USTR has this year.

"Mudd" Scripts. It was an honest typo.

A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall.

Agree not sure how I missed it.
Don't love the quality of Trinity field but decent venue.

Sad that in these times field conditions affect gameplay.  Back in my time, a flat field was amazing. Meadows with rocks were sometimes the standard. Many of us played on grass narrow football size fields surrounded by cinder tracks which had these metal ankle breaking borders. Also collected water on the sidelines which froze in Oct/Nov.

Today so, so much better in 80% or more (to include HS) play on turf or very good grass. One of the reasons son turned down a very good team at the time was the condition of their field. Made no sense as a goalkeeper.

The Trinity field was in bad shape (for its standards) last season in the NCAA tournament, especially in the Round 2 game against Bowdoin, because of the hard use over recent weeks and weather conditions late in the season, but it is usually one of the best fields around.  It looked pretty good in this Instagram post of an early August ID camp (see the last three videos of the 11 v. 11 game).

Wentworth @ Colby Sawyer at 11 AM eastern
Salve Regina @ UMass Boston at 11 AM eastern

Wentworth 4 Colby-Sawyer 1 Halftime
Salve Regina 0 UMass Boston 0 Halftime

Swarthmore v. Yeshiva just kicked off

UPDATE:  Colby-Sawyer is catching up?  4-3 in the 68th minute
Swarthmore 1 - Yeshiva 0 22nd minute
Salve Regina 0 UMass Boston 0 73rd minute

UPDATE:  Who said defense is ahead of offense at the beginning of the season?

Barn-burner of a game between Colby-Sawyer and Wentworth.  Wentworth up 4-1 at Half, Colby Sawyer roars back to tie it up 4-4 in the 79th, and Wentworth goes back up 5-4 in the 81st minute with a roof shot from the right side of the box.

UPDATE:  On the other hand, Salve Regina's defense is holding (barely) against UMass Boston

Still tied 0-0 in the 89th minute despite UMass Boston outshooting Salve Regina 24-9

UPDATE:  Swat 2 - Yeshiva 0 in the 40th minute.

Kind of a camp cupcake opener for Swat, but Yeshiva is hanging in there.  Swat did lose starting defender Nate Kim to injury in the 2nd minute.  Hope he's OK

FINAL

Colby Sawyer 5 - Wentworth 5

C-S tied it up again in the 86th minute

To heck with these uber defensive DIII coaches!  These teams were playing like the coaches think the mindset of kids these days in recruiting is about stats, not wins (and they may be right).

FINAL:

Salve Regina 0 - UMass Boston 0

These coaches played like defense is all that matters! (J/K Salve Regina hung on against a barrage of shots)
