Etta is facing pains from a coaching change, I believe they will right the ship in the near future. Wilmington coming to Mount today,  They have proven a pain in the rear for Mount every year, hope we jump on them and keep them down.  The twin brothers are very talented and can light you up.

Old nemesis, Tom Arth, named QB coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers

Vaden may have another year of eligibility.  I do not believe he played his freshman year at Mount.  Something to look into.. He has come a long way and if he keeps improving, he could get a look from some professional teams in Europe... That is a great mention that Fuline has 8 of the 9, 20 wins seasons in Mount history, and was the covid year 20 wins? They got pulled off the floor while warming up to play Wittenberg to go to the sweet 16.  THAT team could have won it all.

A classic in Westerville. A defensive masterpiece.  Both teams were aggressive, physical and left it all out on the court.  When the Raiders play this defense, they are tough to beat, but Otterbein was up to it. Refs let them play and the guards got mauled all day, but stayed strong.  I thought Ott did a fantastic job of taking away the "3" and we struggled to get an open trifecta. This kept them in the game. Not many subs for Mount, but those who played were excellent. Taylor is and will become more special in the future. His quickness is like a cobra, and he gets off the floor faster than anyone, with an amazing vertical. Collier has shown his value, Vaden makes a difference, and Dunbar plays his rear off with some amazing assists as well as a fine shot. I was remarking to one in the know about Mount's strong season and roster, and he said, "Just wait til next year."  WOW! The future is bright. I hope we are paying Fuline enough to keep him from looking bigger.

Who do you call about the Flosports feeds?  These commercial runs in the middle of action are deplorable. I had at least 7 in the second half of the Mount-Marietta game. A few of the commercials came back to time outs.  It was nuts, and not what we pay for.

I would love to see if Mike Elder at Avon is close to retirement from the school system, and perhaps we could lure him back to Mount Union.  He is a super coach and great guy.  He or Kappas would be perfect Head Coach material in the future.

The smug NCC head coach looked like a deer in headlights at the end of the game.  He wasted two timeouts and seemed confused as to what to do. The River Falls QB was the difference, what a game! Spencer lost a previous Stagg with a dumb decision on a two point try, and this time he did not know how to handle being behind. The DE deflection and pick was the play of the season. Congrats to WRF. And KUDOS to Pat for his prediction!!

Thus far, I think this Raider team is right behind the National Runner-up in talent and may have the ability to take a deep run into the tournament.  Musky looked very good as well, but Mount's young bench has been surprisingly strong and they lose very little when they go 8 or 9 deep.

If Campbell does leave, it would be very interesting to see if Iowa State is interested in Toledo and staff.  Most of the "names" out there have moved on, got raises, or are recently suffering from getting let go.  There are a couple solid names in the MAC.  I just wonder if Penn State was ever interested in Hartline at OSU, and if so, why did he go elsewhere? I do know that Penn State made a few coaches a lot of money!

Since the first match-up at Brush stadium, I have attended every Mount-JCU game.  No matter the record, I consider the Blue Streaks the best current rival of the Raiders. We have won a couple miraculously, with fourth down catches and overtime classics. I will never tire of seeing these two teams on the field together. Every game brings excitement and a test of fan loyalty. Elder wins another state championship at Avon, but bigger headline this morning is Matt Campbell being courted very strongly by Penn State.  One publication stated if the Nittany Lions get Campbell it would be the best coaching hire of this wild fall.  I would love to see him take it, but it will be no surprise if he doesn't. PSU lost numerous recruiting targets and this class will be practically a total loss.  Not a good way to start your tenure. Selfishly, I hope he goes to State College of given the opportunity.

I see that #71, big LT for JCU is not on depth chart. I watched him limp off on the replay of game.  To work all season to get this far and miss it is a horrible shame.  JCU throws a lot of dinks and swing type passes and Mount had better tackle well, as these could be game changers as far as keeping drives alive. JCU LB's and DB's lay the boom when they have the chance, I thought one should have been targeting. Weather looks clear and mid 30's. JCU averages 45 PPG, and Randolph Macon's offense was putrid.  Was it them or the JCU D?  Looking for a big crowd.  I agree with earlier post on attendance at JCU.  No way was their 2k people there. Travel safely Blue Streaks, and hope that both teams bring "A" games for a super game.

I do not know how any of the Wisconsin schools get through the season healthy. The relative size and talent in the league makes most weeks, from my perspective, a physical battle.  Most D3 teams may only see one or two teams that really beat them up physically, while the WIAC has five or six weeks to get seriously banged up. Mount has a couple key guys that have been missing for a couple weeks, but I hope to see them on the 29th. I think that Mount has a Stagg capable offense, but the D has shown some kinks that are worrisome.  We may have to rely on winning high scoring shootouts.

Congrats to Blake Elliot from this Purple Raider alum.  Well deserved.  Why Borchert isn't getting love is unbelievable.

My understanding is that Maloney was the #2 behind Beaudrie when the season started, and his injury elevated DeShields.  DeShields, IMO, saved the season with his outstanding play and his contributions to the success of the MOunt season cannot be understated.

If Mount Defense plays Jan 5 like they did today, they may need 72 to win...
