Thus far, I think this Raider team is right behind the National Runner-up in talent and may have the ability to take a deep run into the tournament.  Musky looked very good as well, but Mount's young bench has been surprisingly strong and they lose very little when they go 8 or 9 deep.

If Campbell does leave, it would be very interesting to see if Iowa State is interested in Toledo and staff.  Most of the "names" out there have moved on, got raises, or are recently suffering from getting let go.  There are a couple solid names in the MAC.  I just wonder if Penn State was ever interested in Hartline at OSU, and if so, why did he go elsewhere? I do know that Penn State made a few coaches a lot of money!

Since the first match-up at Brush stadium, I have attended every Mount-JCU game.  No matter the record, I consider the Blue Streaks the best current rival of the Raiders. We have won a couple miraculously, with fourth down catches and overtime classics. I will never tire of seeing these two teams on the field together. Every game brings excitement and a test of fan loyalty. Elder wins another state championship at Avon, but bigger headline this morning is Matt Campbell being courted very strongly by Penn State.  One publication stated if the Nittany Lions get Campbell it would be the best coaching hire of this wild fall.  I would love to see him take it, but it will be no surprise if he doesn't. PSU lost numerous recruiting targets and this class will be practically a total loss.  Not a good way to start your tenure. Selfishly, I hope he goes to State College of given the opportunity.

I see that #71, big LT for JCU is not on depth chart. I watched him limp off on the replay of game.  To work all season to get this far and miss it is a horrible shame.  JCU throws a lot of dinks and swing type passes and Mount had better tackle well, as these could be game changers as far as keeping drives alive. JCU LB's and DB's lay the boom when they have the chance, I thought one should have been targeting. Weather looks clear and mid 30's. JCU averages 45 PPG, and Randolph Macon's offense was putrid.  Was it them or the JCU D?  Looking for a big crowd.  I agree with earlier post on attendance at JCU.  No way was their 2k people there. Travel safely Blue Streaks, and hope that both teams bring "A" games for a super game.

I do not know how any of the Wisconsin schools get through the season healthy. The relative size and talent in the league makes most weeks, from my perspective, a physical battle.  Most D3 teams may only see one or two teams that really beat them up physically, while the WIAC has five or six weeks to get seriously banged up. Mount has a couple key guys that have been missing for a couple weeks, but I hope to see them on the 29th. I think that Mount has a Stagg capable offense, but the D has shown some kinks that are worrisome.  We may have to rely on winning high scoring shootouts.

Congrats to Blake Elliot from this Purple Raider alum.  Well deserved.  Why Borchert isn't getting love is unbelievable.

My understanding is that Maloney was the #2 behind Beaudrie when the season started, and his injury elevated DeShields.  DeShields, IMO, saved the season with his outstanding play and his contributions to the success of the MOunt season cannot be understated.

If Mount Defense plays Jan 5 like they did today, they may need 72 to win...

Beaudrie listed as starter on two deep game notes....

As a news source, D3.com has been nothing short of professional, honest, fair, and have gone beyond to get things correctly.  They, IMO, have always demonstrated the highest integrity in their reporting.

As the D3 pundits predicted, Salisbury mistakes could doom them and they did.  Fumble =TD, Running into kicker=TD and fumble stops a promising drive. Fourth down stops game Mount field position and a FG. Mount took advantage.

Johns Hopkins held MHB to practically nothing rushing, I hope Mount cleans things up as they could not run against the Seagull defense.  The D did a great job adjusting to Salisbury option game after the first drive. Well done Mount defense.  Great team win, don't pay attention to earlier JHU loss to Salisbury, this is a different and improved team.

Happy for Waddle.  He has earned it.
