Quote from: Greek Tragedy on February 04, 2026, 10:26:43 PMMadness in Platteville. PL up 76-75. Metcalf-Grassman turns it over with 25 seconds left. Then Bristol Lewis turns it over with 18 seconds left. LaChapell misses a 3, gets his own rebound and misses a bunny for the lead. Fuhremann is fouled but misses the FT. Metcalf-Grassman gets the rebound, misses the contested layup with 4 seconds left, but in the scrum for the rebound, Jonah Rindleisch gets fouled with less than a second left. All of this and still down 76-75, Oshkosh a chance to tie or win it at the line but Rindfleisch misses both FTs and Platteville escapes.

It was a long minute. A injury timeout for an Oshkosh player added to the time. It looked like he landed  on his arm or elbow. Any word on if he is alright. Great win for Platteville add to it that the PLatteville Women beat previously unbeaten Oshkosh. As Platteville's previous Chancellor used to say "it's a great day to be a Pioneer."

That was the longest last minute!

River Falls jumped out to an early lead and expanded it to 13 at halftime. Platteville was unable to get anything going in the 2nd half. River Falls wins by 18. A strong game by River Falls big man and Platteville's lack of 3pt shooting was the big difference.

I made my way through a snow emergency to get to watch Platteville win over WW 70-60. Back and forth 1st half with about 5 minutes left in the half Warren picked up his 2nd foul. With Warren out Platteville took a 6 point lead into the locker room. Platteville's lead grew to 11 in the 2nd half. WW got it to with in 5 but they had to start fouling and Platteville made their free throws. The big difference was in the paint WW had no answer for Fuhremann and Hettinger. While Platteville won the game the real winner was "Garding Against Cancer" over $4,000.00 was raised for area Cancer Coalitions and Cancer Research.

Was able to watch the 1st half of the Platteville vs Stevens Point game. I seemed like Point could do no wrong. They were shooting the ball well creating turnovers and getting points off of those turnovers. They had a double digit lead until right before halftime when PLatteville closed it to 6 points. Point had a 40-34 lead at halftime Seth Miron had 19 of Stevens Point's 40 points. Did not get to watch the 2nd half but was pleasantly suprised at the outcome. After allowing 40 points in the 1st half PLatteville held them to 21 in the 2nd half. Platteville has opened the WIAC season with home wins over Eau Claire, LaCrosse and Point which were all ranked at the time. The have beaten Stout and lost to Oshkosh on the road. Platteville hosts Whitewater Wednesday then they will have to play at EC, LaX and Point in the 2nd half of conference play.

Quote from: cubs on December 06, 2025, 02:03:42 PMNot to be outdone, Platteville making some mistakes of their own. After jumping out to a quick 10-0 lead, though one could argue it could be more after settling for a FG despite having 1st and Goal from the one yard line. That defensive stop seemed to shift the momentum, as Bethel went down and scored to make it a 10-7 game. The Pioneers then put a drive together but throw an INT at the two yard line on 2nd Down. Platteville seems to answer with an INT of their own but a roughing the passer penalty wipes it out and Bethel scores after the second chance to take a 14-10 lead.
Platteville in position to score before the half with another 1st and Goal inside the Bethel 10 yard line and promptly turns it over on a sack/fumble with under 20 remaining.

Thanks for the recap. I was at the Wisconsin-Marquette game so I could only check the scores now and then. Congratulations to River Falls on your big win today. They will be hosting Wheaton which has been somewhat of a surprise this playoff season.

Platteville wins over Alma 24-7.  The real winner was Mother Nature around 12 inches of snow high winds were factors today. A few times the Refs stopped the game to allow the ground crew to clear off the yard lines. Platteville scored on 2 time consuming drives one was 99 yards near the end of 2nd quarter. The 2nd drive came in the 3rd quarter a 80 plus yard drive which ate up around 8 minutes. Zac Bothun rushed for over 140 yards. Platteville passed for over 200 yards in very difficult conditions. At this time it looks like Platteville will be at Bethel next weekend.
