Nicely done, JayBird.

Stop by and say hello if you get a chance during the weekend. Same goes for anyone else on these boards.

I will do so!  Would love to meet the folks that frequent these hallowed boards...

If anyone is still prowling about, we tried something new for this year's final four.  We put together five minute profiles on each team that you can listen to and watch on UStream.

Good Luck Captains.  Continue your magical season.

CNU85

It's been a great 4 years watching this version of the Lady Captains. While it didn't end in a national championship (neither did it end that way for Wydown Blvd - just sayin) - it did end with a 60-5 record, a National Player of the Year, a 4 time all american and Barbara Davis won the d3 women's hoops Elite 88 award. This award goes to the athlete in each championship (final 4 in hoops) with the hghest GPA. Davis will graduate with a 3.92 in pyschology.

Next year we will miss the big three....Scwheers, Jessica Moore and Davis. However, the bench is tremendous and recruiting is always a strength of coach Hunter.

Congrats Lady Captains. Looking forward to next year.

CNU85

and congrats to the 2 all americans in the conf. Schweers and Duncan!!

Wydown Blvd.

Huh? In all that goodness about CNU, a small poke.... lol

Only two teams "end with a win" so I am extremely happy for CNU. Beating IWU was also a great last win for both the WashU and CNU programs.

I'm still in shock that this year's Bear squad made it to the Final Four. I said this on the UAA board, but the Bears peaked at the right time.

Happy Off-Season!

CNU85

hahaha Wydwon. I was hoping you would see that "small poke". Happy off season. Time to keep track of CNU baseball. 24-1!!

Piedmont brings a serious program to the USASouth.  Same will be the case if Maryville and LaGrange follow.

Captain Bob

I've heard rumors that CNU coach Carolyn Hunter was asked to resign by the president, a surprising move considering the team's recent accomplishments.

If so, big news, and that portends a bigger story behind the headlines!

Pat Coleman

I have heard three different reasons, which doesn't bode well since that means there's more speculation than facts out there.

Newspaper article on Coach Hunter's resignation is here:

The abruptness of it all, along with the AD's "we never dicuss personnel matters" and his admonishment to not believe all the rumors, doesn't make it sound voluntary. I am also struck by the lack of praise and expressions of gratitude and sadness that one would expect if it were a simple retirement. That's too bad, after all Coach Hunter accomplished...

HSC85

Good luck to the Averett Women's team.  They are beginning a quest for the 4th winning season in a row.  An accomplishment that has never been achieved in program history.  Go Lady Cougars!
