Toby,

You still around Abilene?  I'll be making another trip out this fall for the Linfield/HSU game on Sept. 14th.  I've already made two disappointing drives back to DFW and hoping this time goes a little better.
as of right now i am still in Abilene and that looks to be a good week. The new stadium for UMHB will be opened the following weekend so i'll be in town. Will you be riding with the team again?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I'll be coming into DFW and renting a car by myself for the long drive out. I'll get in touch when we get closer to the game.  It's been a good series and looking forward to one more trip out.

Where have you seen HSU's schedule. I haven't been able to theirs or LC's anywhere.

Hello Gentleman, and Ladies! I hope your offseason is going well. After not getting a chance to face the Tommies in the championship in Salem, the boys on the basketball team beat them on their way to Atlanta. The boys played their hearts out but it wasn't meant to be. Exciting trip though. Great surroundings, great arena, and great opportunity for guys to experience something they wouldn't normally get. I hope the NCAA gets it right to do this every year!

On to football, the stadium here in Belton is going up nicely. The framework for the video board is up, which is exciting. Looking forward to picking out my spot for my D3 reports.

Have a good one, and be safe this summer.

Up with the PURPLE![/color]

I haven't seen the schedule, but go to church with one of the coaches so he keeps me up to date.

Here's what we have for Hardin-Simmons:

Still a couple holes for game times and short a game. Not sure if Texas College returns.

For Louisiana College:

Short a game. I know they are not playing Wesley.

Javicz Jones got an invite from the Texans to attend rookie camp.

Go Cru!

Congrats to @JaBeastJones going to the Texans for rookie camp.

Also, has anyone heard of other schools adding football in the near future so that we don't lose our automatic bid?

You get a two-year grace period before losing the Pool A, so if the ASC allows MC to play football in conference this year (and looking at the schedule on the Choctaw website, it appears they have) the clock would start running in 2014-15.

There will be a vote by the students at UTT concerning an increase in the Activity Fee assessed the students to pay for a football program, possibly as early as 2015. I have heard that it would occur this fall.

Quote...The student fee increase likely would be an additional $8 per semester hour in fall 2014 and $12 per semester hour in fall 2015, Patterson said.

For a student taking 15 hours, the fee eventually would double from $180 to $360 per semester.

UMHB (and many other teams) rejoice:  http://athletics.mountunion.edu/sports/fball/2013-14/releases/2013050824c2oj

ALLIANCE, Ohio – University of Mount Union's Larry Kehres has decided to step down as head football coach, but remain the director of athletics, while Vince Kehres has been named head football coach effective immediately.

Obviously Vince has been there for many years so there will be continuity, but whenever an epic coach retires it's rare that there's not a period of time until the team regains its footing.  And Coach K staying there as AD will help.

Yes and no. I mean, I would have liked to have beaten them with him there. I'm sure teams would have loved to have beaten the Bulls with Jordan on the team.

Besides, UMU will continue to be the standard. Their name and history will outlive their coach. They will continue to be the target until someone other than UWW beats them.
