Quote from: D3fanboy on Yesterday at 07:10:29 AMjust because a player enters the portal does not that they are gone.  Mount's had kids in the past enter, but not leave.  It blows my mind that d3fb players have "representation" and agents giving them, generally, such horrible advice

I was also surprised by this as well, if you're a d3 level talent I can't think of a better place to showcase yourself as a wide receiver than at Mount Union. I don't think any D3 school has the legacy of receiver talent that we do.  The #1 receiver at Mount Union is pretty much guaranteed to get at least some NFL attention.

You make very solid points but their "agent" is likely telling them about how great they are and how many opportunities are out there....instead of questioning what kind of "agent" is targeting D3 football players they are listening to that horrible advice

going to the NFL from D3 was always extremely rare and took special talent/circumstances, but those odds have never been worse.  Hopefully Davion finds what he's looking for (unlikely) or he realizes that the grass is pretty green as a Purple Raider (also unlikely)

Kids would rather take the "easier" route to playing time a join programs like BW, Wittenberg, etc. so they can play immediately

It used to be a honor to wait your turn at Mount Union, but now that is just an insult to the player and their families if they aren't starting.

What's wrong with a player wanting to play throughout their career?

This just reads like bitterness that every quality football player in the area doesn't worship at the altar of Mount Union, and like every other OAC program should have to make due with the players Mount doesn't deem worthy enough to play for the Raiders.

Could not have been further from the point I was trying to make, but clearly failed in doing so.

Utah locking in this deal with private equity fund Otro Capital is widely being panned as the future/death of college athletics.  Otro's co-founder is Mount Union alum Brett Stehlik.  Big $$$ week for Mount alumni

for any Mount fans looking for college football on Saturday...

Kevin Burke is the RB coach for UC Davis and they are taking on Illinois State on Saturday at 5 pm EST.

I will be focusing on our 8-0 hoops team going to 8-0 Muskie on Saturday in a matchup of what looks like the two best OAC teams at this point.  Renew that FloSports!  Fuline and the boys deserve it.

I've heard it could be a few former JCU coaches: https://steelersdepot.com/2025/12/steelers-tom-arth-named-candidate-to-become-high-school-head-coach/

It's not accessible to folks like us -- typically people glean this info from people's social media posts, unless you have a person on the inside at a school willing to share info.

Just saw that Jason Candle is leaving Toledo for UMass and a new HC was announced. Apparently, Toledo did not want VK as a HC.
Hope he moves on from Toledo in a bigger assignment. Is he still a candidate for Nebraska DC?

UConn, thankfully, not UMass! UMass is the worst program in FBS and Bill Connelly's formula usually has UMass behind North Central in his rating system for all four-year college football programs.

VK is going to be DC at Syracuse.
