Yesterday was the first day of Willamette's annual freshman orientation, Opening Days.  As I walked by some of the dorms, I was happy to see that Coach Fowles has continued Coach Speckman's tradition of having the football team help incoming freshmen move their belongings into the dorms.  Pictures here.

Oh, and Blue: you've got to promise not to bring that baby in your avatar to Magoo's.  I'm having nightmares. :o

Ran across this article while trying to find any sort of NWC news.  Nothing all that new or exciting but a little bit of history that I didn't know.
Go Cats!

Ran across this article while trying to find any sort of NWC news.  Nothing all that new or exciting but a little bit of history that I didn't know.

In addition to the George Fox story, the Corvallis Gazette-Times had the following article: Commentary: Philomath grad Harman excited for junior season at Willamette
Some excerpts from the article:
"'We have a new head coach and a new offensive coordinator,' Harman said. 'We'll throw the ball a lot more so I'm also playing some slot receiver.'
. . . .
"Glen Fowles is the new head coach and Brian Sheppard comes in as the new offensive coordinator. Fowles has been with Willamette for 16 years and over that time, the Bearcats have compiled a respectable 104-62 record. He held the offensive coordinator job for the past 14 years.

"'We're still developing. I think our run game will be changing a lot from what we used to have,' said Harman, who believes he may be more suited for slot receiver based on his speed.

"'The biggest changes are coming in the passing game with coach Sheppard. ... He's bringing in new opportunities for pass routes,' he said."

At least the Cats can prep for the fly in week 1 and then be done with it (if reports of Willamette going to a 1 back set with a more pass oriented offense can be believed).

I'm not sure Menlo will be totally Fly? It seems like they would mix it up. But maybe not...they may double up on it if they have the right Flies.
