Records were set and others tied or threatened in last night's 143-102 WARHAWKS victory over Greenville Univesity.  The 143 points established a new scoring record besting the old record of 134 (vs Grinnell 2009). The 60 made field goals established a new record (1983) and 47 assists bested the previous record (38 vs Concordia Chicago 1988) and 74.1% accuracy from the floor tied the #2 mark all time.  The game was basically a one to three possession advantage for Greenville the first 10-11 minutes when the WARHAWKS took the lead 31-30 on Elijah Lambert's jumper.  A Greenville scoring drought when the score got into the forties allowed the WARHAWKS to expand the lead significantly before the half ended 70-50.  Jack Brahm had a big night scoring 30 points (14-15 from the floor) to lead six WARHAWKS scoring in double figures (Trevon Chislom 19, Lambert 14, Gage Malensek 12, Brian Conaghan 12 and Derek Gray 10).  Malensek added 10 assists to finish with a double/double.

Greenville took 52 three point shots and made 17.  It's probably fun to play that way but scoring 100+ points every night and losing by as many as 40 has got to get old. But to each their own I guess.

Well...UWSP is adding atleast 1 player for 2nd semester.  Former Kimberly star, Jake Buchanan, is transferring from D2 Rockhurst to UWSP.  I believe he has 3 years of eligibility and is a huge get for the Pointers.

The WARHAWKS winning streak was snapped 82-77 last night in Ripon.  Trailing by as many as 18 points in the first half the WARHAWKS rallied to close the half with a 26-4 run to take a four point lead 40-36 when it ended.  That lead grew as high as 14 points 57-43 after the first ten and half minutes but Ripon made a 10-0 and eventually took a 64-62 lead.  Derek Gray's basket tied at 64-64 but Ripon scored the next nine points.  The WARHAWKS would get to within 3 73-70 with less than a minute but they hit a three pointer and made their free throws down the stretch.  Gray finished with 19 points and 4 assists.  Jack Brahm added 13 points and JT Hoytink had 11.  We had more baskets but Ripon made 4 more threes and 11 more free throws.  Game over.

Seems like a really weird game with both teams having big leads. I know Ripon is favored to win the MWC, so not sure how bad of a loss this is.

Probably not terrible from a competitive standpoint, but in that league, if they want any chance at Pool C, it's probably one they couldn't afford.

Point gets smoked 71-57. They were down 42-21 at halftime. 10 players played and nine played double digit minutes. Every player scored, yet no Pointer scored in double digits.

I'm not either it's just that blowing the 14 lead in less then 10 minutes reminded me of the past two seasons.  That's disappointing.
