I'd just say if he were walking around on the sidelines with his mic not on the air the whole time, that would be fine and nobody would say anything about those comments and excited interjections.

It'd be the same experience my family and the other folks that sit near me get every game.  :o

Good call by Greg choosing Bethel-----NOT.

1. Missed your picks.
2. Greg's pick looked pretty good with about 14 minutes left in the game.

Happy 20 year anniversary for all those who celebrate!

@SJUFootball coach John Gagliardi won his 400th game - 21-14 at Linfield - in the @NCAADIII quarterfinals on Dec. 7, 2002.

We caught up w/SJU's star RB that season, Kent Crowley '03, in today's @bernicks1916 #TakeMeBackTuesday!

Thank you for reading!  Your 30-year old pop culture reference has rendered me sufficiently burned.

I look forward to seeing your picks in the comments of this week's Quick Hits.  :)

Amazing game, season, and team!  Kent was (is) a stud and one of the nicest guys around.  I can see my helmet in the back of that photo.  ;D

Pat,
You are correct---you missed my picks but I think the handle would be enough in itself.  I knew Bethel would be a tough out for UMHB defense but I wasn't really concerned about the offense.  As to your second point, I'll just leave it to Coach Harmon's statement----"good teams find a way to win."  Just to add, I was looking at North Central's stats for last year, much similiar to this year.  They had also given up fewer points than the Cru did last year to that point and we all know how that turned out.  Of course, this year is different, different teams but some of the same players.  Even though I am pulling for my CRU, I give NC the edge due to home field advantage.  I don't think NC has played the caliber of teams that UMHB has(UW-W, HSU, Trinity, Bethel)  NC has played Wheaton, Wash U, and CMU.  I am not counting Ithaca because I think they were a little overrated as was Linfield.  CMU held NC to 28 points and that speaks volumes.  Will that happen with UMHB, I doubt it but who knows, it's why they play the game.

USee

the "who did they play" card is pretty meaningless when talking about returning Stagg teams that have 18 returning starters. Really not a factor at all. That Sadi, you do know that Wheaton lost in OT @Trinity and lost to Bethel by 2 and NCC beat Wheaton by 13. Not that comparative scores are at all meaningful.

Crubacker

Yep, scores are meaningless.  Wasn't comparing scores, more so the quality.  UMHB played Trinity, HSU, Bethel------now, if you say Bethel should be ranked higher than Linfield(#5) then where does that put Bethel.  Just saying I think UMHB has played higher quality opponents than NC.  However, none of it matters come Saturday.  I have my concerns and therefore I give NC the edge.

Why is the UMHB/NCC game being discussed in the MIAC board?

Sure -- psst, it's easy to pick your alma mater to win. Go pick all the games before you belatedly complain about someone else's pick. :)

I think it was related to Bethel originally. But feel free to bring up another topic or ignore what you don't want to read.  8-)
