What a catastrophic hire he turned out to be. Fire the whole staff at the end of the season and start over.

The thing about the Jim Good era is that almost everyone associated with the program knew he wasn't the guy. There was nothing in his background indicating he was or qualifying him to even get an interview for the Redlands HC job or any other decent job in America. People that have worked with him know it and have told me privately (whether they'll admit it on the record or not they have personally told me). Heck, he wouldn't have gotten an interview for most of the decent private HS jobs in Socal. He was hired because he was there and the U of R AD at the time wanted to do the absolute least amount of work possible.

The Redlands job would have been attractive at the time. Would Brett Elliot have been interested? Probably not. But no way to know. That should have been a national search to get the absolute best guy. It wasn't and they promoted Jim Good and then took the rest of the afternoon off.

I feel bad for MM and all of the alumni who worked with their blood and sweat to build that program. Has to hurt to see it like this but better days are ahead.

That program is dead. Redlands is getting a huge dose of karma for how they treated Mike Maynard.

Call Kurt Bruich and see if he will take the job. He's a Redlands football great, lives in Redlands, has a California HS state championship to his name, and knows ball. He would probably say no, but at least ask him.

The issue is the players UR is now recruiting. I do not know if financial aid structure has changed but the roster is the not the same. UR is no longer getting players from certain areas they did in the past, including N.Cal and Washington.

The game, the Regals QB is better than ours, they exposed our DBs (corner, FS, inverts) as I have said day 1, to say they looked lost is an understatement, blowing assignments, man we bite hard too. The players starting in UR secondary were third string 10 years ago. UR can stop run but horrible at pass, plus UR usually has one big pass rusher but this year none. Once again different kids than the past.

On offense the plan was pretty good, use FB and multiple TEs. However, as the game went along the Regals adjusted coverages etc. and our QB cannot make plays. Once again, this kid would be a third team back up a few years ago. He missed some very easy throws.

UR Fans, it's going to be tough going, La Verne game is a toss-up at this point.

It's the leadership of the program,
not financial aid structure. Men's basketball and Women's softball face the same challenges, and they are elite programs. Other sports at Redlands are doing better than football as well.

The Jim Good experiment has been a drastic failure, and the entire staff needs to be fired. They collectively are a part of this rot and the program needs a full reset when this season concludes.

Your concerns regarding Redlands are valid because CLU is really not any good. No run game and same old O-line.

I think the quality of athlete at UR has dwindled a little bit. I suspect it is due to the lack of effort being put into every facet of the program. If the kids played hard, it would be one think, but it appears that the kids are playing very lazily and that is what the coaches allow. You are either coaching it or allowing it. Hopefully the AD is putting some feelers out to potential candidates. 6 years ago this was a top 25 program that would have gotten some big names. Now, program has potential, but time will tell.

The stats for UR are appalling at best. Below rock bottom. Not even pretty Good.
Points Per Game- 9.33/Opponents 33.33
Total Points- 28/Opponents 100
Yards per game- 288/Opponents 395, Opponents are averaging 6.5 yards a play.
Redzone- 3 of 8 for UR/Opponents are 13 of 14

APU didn't show much, but I suspect UR will have trouble with them. 0-5 is a reality for the Bulldogs.
