KS has been to busy with ish to post.  KS just found out one of his best buds from the Navy passed away two years ago.  KS has been bummed out since.  KS JD bottle took a big hit last night drinking to Willy' memory.

KS puts the USS Flying Fish logo in his signature as tribute to a bud and gets hit by the karma sniper.  Farging Bastages, what an icehole.

+K from The Rev to counteract the -K from anonymous guttersnipe.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

The Rev spent all week bouncing back and forth between Yuma, AZ and Washington, DC.  Did wonders for frequent flier miles, but did damage to The Rev's beautysleep.

Reason: needed to take airport security course in Alexandria, VA.  Had simple week planned for over a month.  Last Thursday, Rev's boss says, "You're going to meeting with USMC here on Tuesday."  Rev says that security course is too important to miss. Boss says meeting with USMC is more important, skip course and be at meeting.  Rev goes to cancel travel plans only to discover that every single thing is non-refundable.  This burns up Rev who hates the idea of wasting $2500 just to be at a one-hour meeting.  Rev decides to buy a second round trip ticket from IAD to YUM in order to attend first day of class, return for Tuesday meeting, and return to DC for third and fourth days of class.  Boss says great idea, if you miss the flight back to Yuma you no longer have job.  Even if it's weather.  No excuses.  The Rev pulled it off without a hitch, but is currently running on fumes.

Airshow in the morning.

Was the security course worth it?  Yes. Very.  Was meeting with USMC worth it?  Yes, if only to learn that the full-bird colonel who is CO is completely worthless and now we have to go above his head to get resolution.  Get this:
-we killed our former plans for civil heavy cargo because it will interfere with MCAS flight schedules and needs
-We are writing an entirely new master plan wth USMC involvement specifically to help tailor the civilian side of the airport to accomdate and enhance the USMC side.
-we are working to change the airport identifyer to match the Dept of Navy's naming system (which is a HUGE move because it is seen as completely capitulating to the USMC...which it is, but we are trying our damnedest to make them realize that we are trying to partner with them as never before)
-we offered to build him a parallel taxiway to his 13,300 foot runway in order to help increase their capacity by clearing civilian traffic off of their runway quicker.  We were about 4 hours from securing the funding from FAA when CO put the kibosh on it.  We had to call FAA and redirect funds so that we wouldn't be out our money for the next five years...and get that done in the four hours he left us to do it in.
-MCAS Yuma is going to be the first MCAS with the new Joint Strike Fighter.  We have switched gears so that a huge portion of our side of the airport will be geared toward building hangars and offe space for defense contractors who are involved in the JSF.  We figure that if Yuma is the first MCAS and the first base out of threein AZ that will house the JSF, we want to have all JSF facilities here.  Good for Marine Corps, no?
-we wrote a Joint Use Agreement that incorporaed all USMC requests.  It's sat on CO's desk since August.

Colonel's response.  He didn't even say no.  He just ignored everything we've put on the table and said that we need to sign a Joint Use Agreement.  The Rev wanted to say, "You mean like the one you've been sitting on for six months?" but Rev stayed silent.  Watch and listen.

Sad thing is that USMC staff and our civilian staff are ready to push forward, partner, and drive ahead with great development.  CO is spoiling it.  Funny thing: SECNAV runway safety team came out nd said, "You need a parallel taxiway."  Col accused his staff and our of putting the inspectors up to it.  We didn't, but it's ironic that the very thing SECNAV tells him he needs, he had just killed the week before.  Doofus doesn't realize that we wer trying to help him get his first star.  Rev thinks guy will be recognized as an obsticle rather than a doer and will retire with birds.  He f-ed up BIGTIME.  We were going to dump about ten million into his arifield.  Now that construction project is on his books and eating his budget.

That's The Rev's story for this time.

Other thoughts about past week:

Dulles location and transportation to/from sucks.  Washington-Reagan is better.  This is probably because Dulles was a democrat secretary of state while Reagan was The Rev's favorite prez.  (Rev once knew Dulles's son, who is a Jesuit in NYC.)

Alexandria, VA is a cool town and The Rev wouldn't mind living there, but Rev's salary would have to quintuple (at the very least) in order to afford a closet-sized place.  Damn!

If flying transcon on United, pay the extra $50 for Economy Plus.  You will be glad.

United has a good-looking flight attendant based in LA.  Rev might fly United more often.  Then again...
Sky West (Delta Connection) has a cute one that does the YUM-SLC run occasionally.  Rev will investigate further.

Skip McDonald's Chipoltle Barbecue Snack Wrap.  Yuk!  It took several pieces of Trident to get greasy film and odor out of Rev mouth.  Nasty.

Hey TGP- The Rev liked United's LAX set-up.  Not bad.  The Rev may swing by LA again on March 6 in order to pick up friend on morning of the 7th--and then head to San Diego, which is (no offense) WAY better than LA.  News to follow.

+k for Reagan.  Hopefully McCain will start channeling Ronny from Heaven.  The Libs are making JT nuts. Obama's for change... Hillary has the experience...  and on the Clinton News Network, all softball questions. And JT caught Obama in a lie and he wasn't called on it.

Paraphrasing:

Obama said he spoke to an Army Captain that told Obama that the Captain's platoon had to be split up between Afghanistan and Iraq.  It put the total number remaining in Afghanistan (25) under its normal 39 men.  Further, the captain has to get weapons from the Taliban because the Army couldn't equip him with enough of the basics.

JT hopes he tries this BS on McCain.

1) Lieutenants run platoons not captains.
2) Normal platoon size is about 24 men
3) A Platoon is not split between different fronts

If he's lying about the first three, he's lying about the equipment problem too.  JT would be: I want the name of the captain who told you this because of 1,2 &3.  If you can't prove it than what you just said is pure fiction.

And if one more Obama supporter tells me about change, JT will scream. JT asks what change specifically...  Tell me about his programs, and his plans, what is his record... JT gets a response like:  I dunno but Obama will change things.

Isn't higher education wonderful?

Then JT says yeah... Obama is going to take whatever change is left in your pocket and so will Hillary.

JT is on the same page Tags is on. Unfortunately the slick talking Obama will give McCain a problem IMHO.

Tags enjoys the new Obama slogan:

"Obama for Change. What change? Eh, who the hell knows"

Frank best of luck..

I had to laugh at the adjoining posts..."Frank what kind of law are you in?"... followed by "Laker Girls!"

I'm sure they need representation.  It may lead to a whole new area of practice... legal services focused on the litigation needs of professional dancers.

... Insert witty comment about Sacramento Kings dancers here ...

JT doesn't watch the Fox News Channel but its a rare outlet compared to all lib stuff.   Truth never comes from the far right or far left. Pick almost any other media and it has left wing... sometimes far left wing overtones and undertones: NY Times, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Time Magazine, Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, and the vast majority of academia.

JT just listens to what a politician says and what he or does.  JT is just a simple conservative.  Anything that strays from smaller government, less taxes, and the what constitution says, JT opposes.  Its a formula that works.  Big government and government solutions never work.  Politicians screwed up social security, medicare, etc.  They'll screw up the next big program(s) too.

Senor RedTackle

RT was in Dallas on business on Wed & Thur.....and RT's biggest pet peeve occurred, yet again. Does anyone else get annoyed when you're on an airplane and the people in the rows behind you stand up when you get to the gate and try to walk past your row to exit before you instead of in an orderly manner? This drives RT nuts...we all have connecting flights and it just shows how bad manners still seem to rule the world....

PG can't talk that fast.  In General, PG has decided he can't be classified as a conservative or liberal.  Any political quiz PG takes always classifies him as a libertarian.  Who would have thought??

Oddly, PG agrees with everything you said.  The key is that government becoming bigger is never a good thing.
