If I remember correctly, last year, the NCAA did daily NPI updates for most of the last week prior to selection Monday then published the final NPI after the brackets were released.

Does anyone have any insight into why Middlebury is so bad this year??? Sad to see a team get so much worse in such a small period of time... Truly shocking.

Thin margins in the NESCAC.  They lost several games 1-0 where the stats were either fairly even or Middlebury had the better of play.  I don't think they're much worse than last year

Agreed. This is why claims about any team being "overrated" are specious. Margin between 1st and 10th in the NESCAC is crazy thin (witness the Tufts-Colby draw earlier this season).

Some interesting games in NESCAC today, in terms of NESCAC tournament seedings and NCAA playoff seedings.

Conn with a hug win to secure top 5 in the NESCAC and the opportunity to go above Wesleyan on Tuesday. They are now the hunters in the NESCAC not being able to fall in the table but with things going their way being able to finish as high as second.

Have to say wasn't overly impressed with Williams but they do have a terrible record against Conn going winless the last 15 games with their last win against the camels came in 2013.

Marco Perugini with the goal who should be a lock for all Nescac first team. Conn looking, as per usual, the best footballing team in d3 once again.

Tufts and Bow will play to a draw, knowing Williams and Mid already draw and confident Con and Wes will tie!

Personally don't see the camels tying Wes as Conn get nothing from a draw. They will either throw everything at it and win or get countered and lose.

It will be a massive domino effect on how other teams play based off of the Mid vs Williams game

I am of the opinion that all final round game should start at the same time.

They don't get anything NESCAC related with a draw but a loss would hurt their NPI

#9929
Middlebury with an emphatic 3-0 win at Williams.

Panthers lock in the 6th seed in the NESCAC tournament and will travel to and face any of Tufts, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Williams, or Conn, depending on the outcomes of games to be played later today.

As far as NCAA tournament hopes for Midd, those who calculate NPI numbers believe that a win today puts the Panthers safely in the field. Of course, result(s) against any of the potential future NESCAC tourney opponents would only help even more.
