________________
45) Shenandoah
47) Wittenburg

48) Buena Vista

52) Rutgers Camden
53) TCNJ
55) Spalding

Look at that; thru #44, there were 21 Pool A bids and 23 Pool C bids, with 20 Pool A bids to be awarded.

With Post-season conference tourneys, I have no idea how high up the bubble extends. Going 2-and-BBQ in a post-season tourney may destroy your NPI.

Dick, please elaborate. Also please consider the Receiving Votes teams in your comments.
Thx.

I deleted my post. After looking through some previous "votes", I'm not positive the source providing the information are part of any official poll.

Thanks Dick.

I appreciate your re-assessment. With 23 at large bids, we are so deep into the pack, that the bubble teams can run the numbers on that game that they should not have lost and moan all off-season or for seniors, the rest of their lives. It was less objective in the Regional Rankings days, and the  experts at D3baseball.com would have real disagreements with the final 2-3 selections at large. (They were understandable objections, but nevertheless the committee ruled.)

I ran McMurry's numbers comparing the result of 1 win versus the #4 seed (St Thomas) at roughly NPI #180 and 2 losses with Concordia TX, an NPI #25-30.

On 04/30, McM was #33 at 57.423. After the tourney, they were #41-42 with ~56.805.  McMurry gained 0.013 points by Huntingdon (whom they had beaten on 02/07) winning the CCS tourney (over Maryville and Belhaven).

We might see teams lose 0.5 to 0.7 points with losses in post-season tourneys. That is what the bubble watchers can use to see how their own team is going to float up and down the standings. For McMurry, poor post-season tourneys by Coe #36 thru Wittenberg #40, may permit McMurry to leap-frog them and escape a "bubble-busting" tidal wave.

Rutgers-Camden at 57.268 may be too high for McMurry to leapfrog. I think that Coe thru Wittenberg will get a bid if they make their conference tourney finals.

It certainly is fun watching this play out. It is definitely transparent.

Platteville knocks off WIAC Regular Season Champion and #1 seed Whitewater in thecopening game of the WIAC Tournament 6-3 this afternoon.

This result means that one of Whitewater, La Crosse or UWO is guaranteed to go "two & BBQ" in the WIAC Tournament this weekend.

It will be interesting to see how that affects that respective team's NPI number? Could it cost Whitewater or La Crosse the chance at hosting a Regional?

UWO scores 4 in the 7th and 10 in the 8th to turn a 4-1 deficit into a 15-4 mercy rule victory.

Whitewater and La Crosse will square off tomorrow in an elimination game, though I'd guess the loser still earns a Regional berth.

I am guessing that the most that UW-O can fall would be from #24 on the NPI thru 05/07 at 58.114 to no lower than 57.000 which is good for #39 (Pool C bid #20). This morning I had McMurry at #42 PoolC #23 at 56.807.

Of course the non-WIAC conspiracy theorists are anticipating the WIAC configuring the tourney to allow UW-P to win  it all to earn the Pool A and the conference gets a 4th bid. LOL!  ::)

41) TCNJ  56.929  (#22)
42) McMurry 56.807  (#23)

Whitewater gets a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 6th inning to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 6-5 lead, and that margin holds up in an elimination game victory.

The Warhawks move on to play the loser of Platteville vs UWO at 4:00 this afternoon.

Would appear that UWO is on their way to Championship Saturday as they lead Platteville 10-2 after five innings of play.  Platteville with have a rematch with Whitewater today at 4:00 with the winner needing to beat UWO twice tomorrow in order to earn the WIAC Tournament Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament.

I did not have UW-O as a bubble burster, but congrats.
