One more day to the traditional late October BUSY weekend begins for the UAA teams (UAA schedule: https://uaasports.info/calendar.aspx?path=wsoc) with all 8 playing Friday and then all 8 playing again on Sunday!  This year #24 NYU, #16 Rochester, #1 Emory, and #19 Brandeis get to remain at home all weekend and #18 Carnegie Mellon, #2 Wash U, #3 Chicago, and #6 Case Western have to each travel to two different states during the weekend.

I have four 'monitors' ready to go to stream the games so I may be responsible for crashing the Flo$port$ platform on my own.  :o

Earlier this week, when I went to the NCAA D3 Women's Soccer Scores page (https://www.ncaa.com/scoreboard/soccer-women/d3/2025/10/24/all-conf) to see what games were being played, I saw Case Western vs Brandeis was set for 7:30am.  I thought for a brief second that's crazy playing soccer at 7:30 in the morning!  Then I noticed right above that La Verne vs Whittier was starting at 3 in the morning.  Obviously I quickly realized they had mistakenly switched AM for PM .. nothing like playing a game under the lights at 3 in the morning!

Interesting, I just noticed that the La Verne vs Whittier game was actually played on Wednesday (10/22) at 4pm.  So wrong day and wrong time.

Eight of the top 25 teams see action today - in just four games - involving only one conference (in case you haven't heard enough about this yet  :) )!

It's an all UAA Friday in the top 25 starting with #18 Carnegie Mellon at #24 NYU at 2:30pm EDT.  The remaining three games all start at 7:30pm EDT tonight:  #2 Wash U at #16 Rochester, #3 Chicago at #1 Emory, and #6 Case Western at #19 Brandeis.

If you are not going to the games, grab a bucket of popcorn and settle in for what should be some great soccer games!

CentPA

The Carnegie Mellon vs NYU (Women's) game has not started yet (as of 3:05 EDT) because the Men's game ran a little long.  Looks like it will start around 3:30.

CMU vs NYU game started at 3:15.  In the first ten minutes, most of the play has been on the NYU half of the field and CMU has the only shot so far and it was on goal but directly at the GK who handled the save.

CentPA

In the second ten minutes, the NYU GK (#0 Capo) has had to make 3 good saves to keep it at 0-0.

CentPA

In the third ten minutes, a great save by NYU GK, Capo on a point blank shot from the corner of the six, where she used her left leg to send the ball over the end line.

CentPA--

I am going to let you live post the women's games this evening.   Tonight marks the 45th anniversary of my mother's death, according to the Hebrew calendar, and I will be saying kaddish for my mother.  I will be back on Sunday.

Shabbat Shalom deiscanton.  Look forward to hearing from you on Sunday.
