Case Western scores a second goal with a strong shot from just outside the corner of the 6.  Now 25 minutes left in the game.

Chicago GK made a great save on a point blank shot from Emory's Teng.

CentPA

Emory's bench just got carded for arguing an offsides call.

CentPA

#9 Clemons of Wash U scores her third goal of the night!  She would not be denied as she took on two defenders coming straight down the middle of the field and forced her way into the 18 before taking a strong shot inside the right post.

Rochester awarded a penalty kick with 11:25 left but shot is saved by the backup goalkeeper for Wash U #99 Green.

Wash U up 5-0.

CentPA

Wow - goal for Chicago called back for offsides - close call for Emory.  7 minutes left in the game.

CentPA

Case Western wins 2-0 over Brandeis.

Wash U wins 5-0 over Rochester.

Emory still up 1-0 with 2 minutes left in game.

CentPA

Game over!  Emory wins 1-0 and hands Chicago their first loss of the season.

What a Friday night.  Now we wait for Sunday and the #1 vs #2 matchup.

Yesterday's games, Saturday 10/25/25, saw three teams in the top 25 not be able to come away with a win.

#8 MIT hosting Mount Holyoke, despite outshooting the Lyons 35-2, let one of the two shots find the back of the net with less than 20 minutes left in the game, and had to settle for a 1-1 draw,

#20 Cal Lutheran, in a game with implications to the top of the SCIAC standings, came away with a 0-0 draw at Claremont-M-S,

and finally, #23 Carleton goes on the road to conference opponent Bethel, and is handed a loss 1-2 and now finds themselves in 3rd place in the MIAC standings.

Today is round 2 of this weekend's UAA games.

The only top 25 teams playing today are the 8 UAA teams.

@ 1:00pm (EDT) #6 Case Western at #24 NYU
@ 1:00pm (EDT) #3 Chicago at #16 Rochester
@ 1:30pm (EDT) #18 Carnegie Mellon at #19 Brandeis

and last but not least (arguably the game of the regular season in all of D3 Women's Soccer)!

@ 1:30pm (EDT) #2 Wash U at #1 Emory

CentPA

D3boards having some problems with delays .. won't be trying to post ongoing updates of the games.

CentPA

Emory scores a goal 2 minutes into the second half to tie the game 1-1 with Wash U!

Rochester upsets Chicago 1-0 - handing Chicago their second loss of the weekend.

CentPA

Wash U scores on a break away goal from Clemons to take a 2-1 lead.  There is now 2:30 left

Wash U will deservedly be back to #1 on Tuesday in the USC National - Poll 8 after beating Emory 2-1 this afternoon.  It has been seven weeks since they were bumped out of the number one spot as a result of their tie in their fifth game of the year to Trine on the road.

Not sure how much Chicago's two losses will affect them in the standings given that one of the losses was to the #1 (at the time) team on the road in Friday's loss to Emory.

I thought Rochester did well bouncing back from their 5-0 loss to Wash U on Friday to find a way to score on their only shot on goal and hold off Chicago for the win.  Chicago led in shots 16-3 and shots on goal 8-1 but was unable to find an equalizer.

NYU was unable to duplicate their Friday results (beating Carnegie Mellon 2-0) and ended up loosing 0-2 to Case Western who was the only other team besides Wash U to win both their games this weekend.  Although to be fair, they had the easiest path to win both their games, in as far as the rankings go, playing #19 and then #24.

Here are the results of the UAA teams from this weekend (win - loss - draw):

Emory      1 - 1 - 0
Wash U    2 - 0 - 0
Chicago   0 - 2 - 0
Case Western   2 - 0 - 0
Rochester    1 - 1 - 0
Carnegie Mellon   0 - 1 - 1
Brandeis     0 - 1 - 1
NYU      1 - 1 - 0

If you look at the prior rankings (in parentheses) above, you'll see (10) is missing.  Carleton who was #10 last week lost on Saturday to Bethel who came into that game with a 2-12-2 record.  That loss took Carleton from #10 in the NPI standings to #24!

One good thing this weekend, when watching so many top 25 teams using Flo$port$, is that I didn't have any significant streaming issues!  I even watched some of the Pomona-Pitzer vs Occidental game on Saturday night, but the camera was so tight (zoomed in) on the players that after about ten minutes I couldn't take it anymore.
