12.  I loved the young ladies prayer at the beginning, we all know purple and yellow are his favorite colors.
i'm not sure if Sandra gets on here and reads but i've known here for almost 30 years. I feel safe in saying she appreciates the sentiment and your calling her young.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I haven't taken the time to take a look at strength of schedule but I have to think UMHB has to rank at the top and I would think they have the most quality wins after playing Linfield, ETBU, and HSU. HSU has to be looking pretty good with strength of schedule with ETBU and MHB.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is they deserve to meet up later in the playoffs (im assuming both take care of business the rest of the way) than a first round match up especially if you look at the quality of opponents some of the other top 10 teams have played this season.

Totally agree; as I posted on the Pool C board, this is a Round Three matchup (if they both survive), not a Round One.  I'm not very familiar with the South region mileages - is there ANY realistic alternative to the Texas Sub-bracket if the 'bean-counters' can't be swayed by arguments for fairness?

Hnedrix can be bussed to UMHB (480 miles) but also to Huntingdon (488 miles).

Thus the ASC nightmare ...

Huntingdon vs Hendrix

HSU at UMHB

I don't see any other potential matchups for Huntingdon.

The ASC just became big Maryville TN fans (to knock off Huntingdon).

If Berry and Maryville win out would we see a rematch of Week 1?**
If Berry and Huntingdon win, could they be matched up?

Both USAC schools are bussing distance from Centre.

** the NCAA needs to come off the rematch deal in the first round, especially 2 potential 3rd rounders like UMHB and HSU.

-----—-----------------------

Just for fun on Google maps:

Distance from UMHB:

HSU: 185
WashU: 761
Berry: 844
Hendrix: 479
Centre: 990
Maryville: 958
Huntingdon: 735

And for even a little more fun---
Randolph Macon: 1,408
W&L: 1,279

And for the ultimate in fun, Belhaven to Sul Ross is 897 miles, a bus trip the Blazers didn't get to experience because they flew for a conference game haha

Game Notes for the Cru vs. Lobos - http://sidearm.sites.s3.amazonaws.com/cruathletics.com/documents/2016/10/27/Game_Notes_Sul_Ross_2016.pdf?id=1208

A few things of note:

-Coach Pete Fredenburg is now in 9th place amongst all active D3 coaches with 188 wins.  If the Cru win this week, he will move up into a tie of 8th place with Illinois Wesleyan's Norm Eash.  For those curious, Rick Giancola of Montclair State is currently #1 with 234 wins.
-UMHB's all-time record is now 188-38.  The Cru could lose every single game between now and the 6th game of the 2031 season and still have a winning program record.

Zane Boles again listed as a TE.

I hope we don't lose this kid to another team due to all of the moving around and uncertainty.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Maybe I am too optimistic but I don't take any of this as a bad thing. To me it shows the coaching staff is doing anything it can to try and find Zane a spot on the 53 man roster come playoff time. Also I take it as a great sign that Zane is a team player and wants to get on the field, no matter the position.

As a fan I get to assume we are going to take care of our last 3 opponents so at this point the coaching staff is going to be fine tuning our roster when it gets drastically cut down in the playoffs. As a 3rd string QB, back up punter his spot is not that guaranteed, but as back up TE, back up punter and back up QB it is all but guaranteed.

Also unless I am looking at something different he has been listed as QB/TE for this game and the last two games. The only difference this week is he is actually on 2 deep as a TE which again I take as a good sign that he is improving as a TE.

At the end of the day, we should all hope that Zane has no real impact on this season because if Blake Jackson doesn't play his best, UMHB is not achieving its ultimate goal and most likely Zane, Kyle or Holten aren't going to be better than him this season. And as for next season, I am sure the coaching staff has already had discussions with anyone necessary about the prospects on being our next starting QB.
