I didn't think it was possible for Hamline to get much worse, but this season has proven me wrong.  How long before they go the way of Macalaster?

Side question: Who do we bring in to replace them?

Minnesota teams that aren't in the MIAC right now for football:

Crown
Macalester
Martin Luther
UM-Morris
Northwestern
St. Scholastica

Out of those teams, Scholastica seems like the only one that would be an option.

I don't think any of them are options. Mac could come back since they're already in for other sports. Hopefully Hamline doesn't leave. But Scholastica doesn't seem like a fit for the MIAC

What pissed me off the most when MAC was dropped to Independent my senior year was that there was no plan put in place to return to the MIAC.

While I do not think they are ready to compete in the MIAC now, I think they are on a path to compete in about 2-3 years.   The roster continues to grow and the type of player they are recruiting is a MIAC type of athlete.

I just don't know if a return to the MIAC is a priority of the Administration.

I"m quite certain Hamline will be going nowhere (interpret that as you wish), and MAC is not salivating to get a football team back in the MIAC.

I'm interested in people's thoughts on the Auggie at Concordia (homecoming) game this weekend. Statistically they are pretty much a toss up. The Auggie pass game against the Cobber secondary could be a factor favoring Augsburg, but the Cobbers have been getting picks and controlling on offense. Cobbers will have to keep pressure on the QB.

Looking for a good one!

The UMAC champion should get the opportunity to get to play into the MIAC, replacing the last place MIAC team.

You can look forward to more asinine statements from me until Bethel week.

I hope the Cobbers have a better Homecoming result vs. Auggie, than SJU did.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) Auggie has the best QB in the conference. Keep the pressure on him,and then you have to account for their slick RB. Good luck.

BTW, do the Cobbers & Auggies play for a traveling trophy like a bowl of Lutefisk or some such thing?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

No trophy game here. Concordia plays St. Olaf for a troll, but just bragging rights versus Augsburg. Shall we start by comparing stadiums??

No doubt finding a legitimate RB has been a huge part of Augsburg's success thus far. They've always been able to throw all over the field, but some years they were almost totally unable to run. The D-line could just pin their ears back and rush the QB. Now that you've got to respect the run they've gotten harder to stop and gameplan against.
