I wonder how good the Piper video will be.  I can't remember the last time I watched a game they broadcast, if ever.

Free, I assume.

I may drive on over--jr's game is in the evening.

I will miss listening to the Johnnie radio coverage. If past meetings are any indication, Hamline will pose little more of a threat than Minnesota-Morris did. Will be interesting to see if either of our QBs gets any separation from the other. Looking at other Division III matchups, No. 16 Whitewater travels to Belton to take on No 6 UMHB at their Cruthedral and No. 3 Johns Hopkins travels to No. 4 Susquehanna.

Feeney will be the starter week 3 for sure week 4. Props to Zander for everything he's done and his loyalty to SJU.

I listen to Johnnie Radio on AM1550 by using the TuneIn Radio app and mute the video.  Then I've got the best possible Johnnie road game experience.  ;)

I doubt it will be very competitive game but I'm glad the Johnnies are playing Hamline again at Santa Klass Stadium off Snelling. I'm getting to the point where the drive up to Collegeville as the sun rises on a Saturday morning and the drive back as the sun is setting is just more than I want to do on a Saturday. And with the home schedule being as awful as it is I'd rather ride the A-line up to Hamline to watch a bloodbath.

It's beyond annoying to watch a game where we're the away team while trying to listen to the Johnnie radio coverage. The radio coverage ends up being ahead of the video feed and despite anything/everything I've tried, I have yet to figure a way out to get the action to sync up with the audio.

Susquehanna is now on Flosports. Not sure about UMHB.

Looks like when a school or league signs up, all of its sports can be put behind  the paywall. No surprise: Minor sports viewership really tumbles, according to an X discussion I happened across.

Well, today is it.  Geelong v Hawthorn at the MCG.  The game starts in 6 1/2 hours.  #2 and I didn't get tickets in the lottery, so she's lined up at the Member's entrance for walk-in seating.  We got there at 7am (a bit tragic).  The next walk up didn't show until 9am.  I headed to the office but will be going back over shortly to join her in the line.

Huge match.  Him's nervous.  Geelong haven't beaten Hawthorn in an elimination final since 1963, when they beat us in the Grand Final.  We're 6-0 against them since then in knock-out finals, including the 2013 Preliminary Final, which was an absolute cracker (and my first as a Melbourne Cricket Club member).

This is the next best thing for me to a Johnnie-Tommie game.  Can't wait.

EDIT:  Darn. So close. Next year we're gonna be hard corp good.  Let's go Johnnies!  Smash the pipers and salve my wounds.

The crowd was 99,597. About 700 short of a complete fill.

GoldandBlueBU

I saw that both BU and SJU had players on the Good Works team again this year...seems like nearly every year that's been the case?  I don't suppose there any any statistics of the sort.

Anyway, congrats to Dylan Wheeler and Devin Williams!

sjujohnnie

Wheeler is the 9th Johnnie to be recognized and the 8th in the last 9 seasons. I was going to post the game notes for Saturday's matchup against Hamline, but the 35 pages of glorious Johnnie football data was too large to post here. Congrats to Wheeler for the deserved recognition as well as to the Bethel student athlete!

DuffMan

It's quite impressive that there are only 22 players recognized in the entire country, and 2 are from the MIAC.

To be honest what I miss is listening to the Johnnie games 20 years ago and following on the D3 game threads and interacting with others.  the live stream really does nothing for me.
Everyday is payday in paradise.
