Final from Waltham, MA--

Carnegie Mellon 1, Brandeis 0

Brandeis suffers their first home loss of the season in their final regular season home game.  Brandeis finishes their UAA slate on the road for the final 2 weekends of the regular season.

Carnegie Mellon head coach Brandon Bowman got a red card in the final minutes of the match, which means that he will have to serve a 1 match touchline suspension next weekend vs Rochester.

Carnegie Mellon improves to 1-2-2 in the UAA-- 5 points-- 8-3-5 overall.

Brandeis drops to 1-2-2 in the UAA-- 5 points-- 9-2-4 overall.

Carnegie Mellon needed that win at Brandeis today after losing on Friday at NYU-- It seems that the at-large chances may still be alive for the Tartans.

Brandeis's chances for a high seed in the NCAAs have taken a hit, but depending on what the NPI summary report shows tomorrow morning, I still think that it is more likely than not that Brandeis's chances for an at-large bid remain solid with 2 matches to go.

The race for the UAA men's title has come down to Wash U and Chicago, with Emory, Brandeis, CWRU, Carnegie Mellon, and NYU mathematically out of the running for the UAA Men's Soccer Championship.

Rochester is technically alive in the UAA title race at 7 points, but a Wash U victory in pne of their remaining 2 matches will eliminate the Yellowjackets from the hunt for the title.

Wash U has a 2 point lead over UChicago-- Wash U has 12 UAA conference points, while UChicago has 10 UAA conference points, and a Wash U win vs NYU next Saturday combined with a Brandeis win or draw at Chicago next Sunday will give the UAA title and AQ to the Bears.   Should Wash U and Chicago both win next weekend, then Wash U would then secure the UAA championship with at least a home draw vs Chicago on the final matchday of the UAA season.    If UChicago wins out their remaining 2 UAA games, then the Maroons will win the UAA Men's Soccer Championship and the AQ that goes with it.

Back from Atlanta, Wash U disrupted Emory's play more than any team i've seen this year and they had the better of it for long stretches in the match. #14 on defense for Wash U was fantastic, believe he was conference defensive player of the year last year and can understand why. Honestly not a lot of great chances for either team yet Wash U got the goal on a messy corner kick and that's all they needed. First time all year that Emory was held scoreless.

Kudos to Wash U women as well for knocking off #1 Emory 2-1 in the afternoon tilt. Great trip to Atlanta for Wash U.

He was a difference maker.  Surprised by how much difficulty Emory had getting a handle on the ball.  WashU showed up in a big way.

Quote from: kansas hokie on October 25, 2025, 10:20:56 PMEmory didn't have their top goal scorer Ignacio Cubbedo due to a late yellow card in the NYU game. He's a difference maker, but Emory still had plenty of chances to take this one.

Unfortunately, the Bears were without their UAA defensive player of the year on Friday so I assume he will be out today.  Two other key reserves did not play, though I am not sure if that was injury related.  Enjoy the games!
