Emory is my team. This may be a lightly used forum, but I can confirm that many eyes scan it. Fun to carry on the conversation. I am thinking about making the trip next weekend for the Emory @ Brandeis match, should be a great one.

My sister-in-law is an Emory alum, but she doesn't follow sports that strongly.  My eldest niece is currently a sophomore at WashU, and she may be attending this Saturday's soccer matches on the WashU campus, but I have not e-mailed her about this. And, of course, I graduated from Brandeis in 1991.   I have been thinking about going back to Brandeis to attend the Homecoming matches vs Emory in person on Saturday, October 11 myself, as unfortunately, I have not been impressed with the quality of the play by play commentary for Brandeis this season.  Brandeis alum Jonah White is no longer doing the play by play for either the Judges, or for MIT, and it shows on the quality of the Brandeis broadcast.   I got sick and tired last week at the Brandeis play by play commentator last week referring to the John Carroll U Blue Streaks as "John Collins University".   Or was it "Joan Collins University"?  I am not really sure.  Anyway, it sounded like a student intern out of the Brandeis sports info department who never did play by play prior to this season.  Dan Strafford out of Waltham, MA,  has done play by play for some home Brandeis soccer games as well, and he is more professional, but still not of the same level as Jonah White.   The tricky part for me is I would either have to use public transportation out of Canton, MA to get to the Brandeis campus by the 11 AM ET kickoff time, or face the possibility of having to pay $35 for an Uber or a Lyft to the Brandeis campus.   (Uber did have a promotion today where the fare from my house to the Brandeis campus would be $25 after the promotion and before tip, but with my fixed income, that is expensive for me.)

Update-- I just found out through LinkedIn that Jonah White is currently a grad student at Northwestern University in Chicago.  That is why he is not currently doing play by play for either Brandeis or MIT home games.

I am looking forward to watching Jay Murry call the Brandeis at WashU games this Saturday from WashU.   He rivals JC DeLass of Rochester as one of the best play by play commentators in the UAA.

Can't help but look ahead to Emory at Brandeis! Two highly ranked NPI teams, unbeaten, and in top form. Can Brandeis stop Cubeddu? Can Emory handle Brandeis' exceptional ability on the ball and high work rate?

So glad the UAA is bouncing back after last year.

The WashU men's soccer team is carrying a 7 game win streak heading into the match vs Brandeis this Saturday, and this year's WashU team beat CCIW teams North Park and Wheaton (IL) in the same season for the first time in program history.

Right now, the UAA, IMO, is the second best men's D3 soccer league in the country-- second only to NESCAC, but like the Avis rent-a-car company, I like to say that the UAA "tries harder."  On the women's soccer side, the UAA is the best d3 soccer league, and has been for the past few years.  Hard to argue when not only did 7 out of the 8 UAA women's soccer teams make the NCAA d3 tournament each season for 2 straight seasons running, but also the UAA women's soccer champion went on to win the NCAA d3 tournament last season as well.

It's taken me a while to respond to this...I'm having a really hard time getting past your screen name! This year's football game should be a good one (hopefully anyway, for once). VT looked better last week, but the Hoos won the game of the week.

We are up in Cleveland right now to watch CWRU vs Rochester. Big weekend for the UAA!

I will be at Emory/CMU on Sunday, looking forward to it, still thinking about a long drive to Brandeis / Emory game but it's likely that I do it. deiscanton, if you get there, let me know. Fun weekend of great games ahead. I'm going with...Case win by one, Brandeis/Wash tie, Chicago by two, and Emory by two.

UAA men's soccer season started at 11 AM ET today with Rochester now playing at CWRU at DiSanto Field in Cleveland.   Ron Jantz on the play-by-play call on the FloCollege CWRU feed.

Coming up at 11 AM Central/Noon Eastern is one of our D3 Games of the week in men's soccer with Brandeis at WashU from Francis Olympic Field in St. Louis, with Jay Murry on the play-by-play call.   Also coming up at the same time is NYU at UChicago from Stagg Field in Chicago.

Tomorrow, Emory at Carnegie Mellon.

As a reminder, FloCollege is your exclusive home this season for all video streaming of UAA soccer matches.

FYI, here is what "the Hive" thinks about the prediction of the outcome of today's Brandeis at WashU men's match, according to the Youtube show from Simplecoach--

Brandeis win-- 21%/Wash U win-- 46%/Draw-- 33%

Interesting comment from Ron Jantz right now-- This UAA match vs Rochester is CWRU's first home game in men's soccer since Sunday, September 14, 2025, when the Spartans played Allegheny.   CWRU has played their previous 4 games before today on the road.

Co-sign.

I expected people to overlook WashU early after the blemish against Westminster, the injured players, and so on.  But Brandeis vs. WashU is obviously the UAA game of the week.

The Bears are fielding the youngest team in the league, but they are quickly putting things together.  Overlook this team at your peril.

According to Ron Jantz on play by play, Rochester has dominated possession of the ball in this first half vs CWRU, but the possession advantage does not show up on the shots taken.   By shots taken by each team, the half seems pretty even.  In the 33rd minute, Rochester has taken 4 shots to CWRU's 3, but 2 of CWRU's 3 shots have been on target, vs none for Rochester.   Match is still scoreless in the 34th minute.

Correction: Brandeis vs. WashU is one of the biggest games in Division III this week.

deiscanton

Rochester defender Mikey Burke made a spectacular header block on a CWRU shot on target in the 41st minute to keep the match vs CWRU scoreless.

deiscanton

Rochester and CWRU now at halftime, scoreless at 0-0.

CWRU leading in shots, 6-4, and in shots on goal, 3-0.

Rochester took 2 corner kicks to CWRU's one corner kick.

Fouls even at 3 a piece with no cards issued.

CWRU whistled offsides twice, vs no offsides for Rochester.

I will be switching over now to the Brandeis at Wash U FloCollege feed, but will be following live stats for all 3 of the UAA men's games today.

Really impressed by the little guy #22 on Wash U. He's going to be a problem in the UAA for the next few years.
