NK - throw in Arlen Spector asking Goodell for the "tapes" is an even bigger joke.  Pro sports is entertainment, has player's unions, etc.  The government should have no role in the jurisdiction of how the league's are run.  Teams are all basically privately held (except for the Packers), so the gov't should just butt out.

The main reason Gov't has gotten involved in both is because professional sports leagues have Anti Trust exemptions.  They should let it go with beisboll, MLB has cleaned up it's act, has fairly strict testing and policies in place now.
